Fandango (Mexican Band)
Fandango was a Mexican Girl pop group formed in 1984 until their disbanding in 1991 consisting of 5 teenage girls from Monterrey, Mexico. They taped and released their first music album under EMI music. Fandango was created from the late 1980s pop-music revolution throughout Mexico to compete against other teenager groups like Menudo, Timbiriche, Flans, and Pandora. In 1987 they charted with their smash hit "Autos, Moda y Rock and Roll" remaining in the Top 10 for over 2 months. The group set a dressing trend among teenagers in Mexico at the time. The track is featured on the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack. Girl Group
A girl group is a music act featuring several female singers who generally harmonize together. Menudo is a Puerto Rican boy band that was formed in Puerto Rico by producer Edgardo Díaz. Referred to as the "Most Iconic Latino Pop Music Band", Menudo has been ranked as one of the Biggest Boy Bands of All Time by several publications, including '' Billboard'', ''Us Weekly'', '' Seventeen'', and '' Teen Vogue'', being the only Latin band on their lists. ''Timbiriche'' (also known for a brief time as ''La Banda Timbiriche'') is a Mexican pop music group. The group started as a children's group in 1981 and managed to evolve successfully into adulthood. Timbiriche is considered one of the most iconic Latin Pop acts of the 1980s and the early 1990s. It was the start of numerous figures in the Latin American entertainment world, including successful singers like Thalía, Paulina Rubio and Edith Márquez, as well as actors, composers and conductors. Flans
Flans are an all-female Mexican music group, which enjoyed popularity from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. Its members were the singers Ivonne Margarita Guevara García, Ilse María Olivo Schweinfurth and Irma Angélica Hernández Ochoa. They were generally known as Ivonne, Ilse, and Mimí. Career Beginnings The three girls were initially cast in the mid-1980s for a TV show to be called ''Fans'', which was to feature chats and sing-alongs with guest stars. Pandora is a female Mexican people, Mexican singing trio (music), trio. The trio was formed in 1981 under the name Trebol by sisters Isabel Lascurain and Mayte Lascurain and their cousin Fernanda Meade. The trio was renamed "Pandora" upon signing with EMI Records in 1984. Background During their school years, the Lascurain sisters and some friends participated as a group in various music festivals, calling themselves "Las Jeans". Later, Fernanda Meade, their cousin, joined Isabel and Mayte to form a trio called "Trebol". Under this name they recorded an album for RCA Victor in 1981 entitled ''El día que me quieras'' (''The Day That You Love Me'').
