Fan Xiaojun
Fan Xiaojun (; born 1956) is a general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). He had been Political Commissar of the Northern Theater Command since April 2017, and formerly served as Director of the Political Department of the PLAAF. Biography Fan Xiaojun was born in 1956 in Danyang, Jiangsu. He spent his early career in the Chengdu Military Region and the PLA General Political Department before transferring to the PLAAF. From 2005, Fan served in the Political Department of the Beijing Military Region Air Force and the Guangzhou Military Region Air Force. In 2009, he became Political Commissar of the PLAAF's 15th Airborne Corps, China's only corps-level airborne force. In the summer of 2014, he succeeded Lt. Gen. PLA General Political Department
The People's Liberation Army General Political Department (GPD; ) was the former chief political organ under the Central Military Commission of Chinese Communist Party. It led all political activities in the People's Liberation Army. Its former director-generals include Liu Shaoqi, Luo Ronghuan, Tan Zheng, Xiao Hua, Li Desheng, Zhang Chunqiao, Wei Guoqing, Yu Qiuli, Yang Baibing, Yu Yongbo, Xu Caihou, and Li Jinai. Guo Puxiao (; born January 1964) is a general ('' Shangjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China and the political commissar of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) since January 2022. He previously served as the political commissar of Logistic Support Department of the Central Military Commission from 2019 to 2022. The People's Liberation Army Air Force Airborne Corps () is an airborne corps under direct command of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). It was reorganized and renamed from the 15th Airborne Corps in May 2017 and now comprises six airborne brigades and a special operations brigade. The PLAAF Airborne Corps is China's primary strategic airborne unit and part of the newly formed rapid reaction units (RRUs) of the Chinese military which is primarily designated for airborne and special operation missions. Its role is similar to that of the U.S. Army's XVIII Airborne Corps/82nd Airborne Division/101st Airborne Division and Russian Airborne Forces. Lieutenant General
Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a three-star military rank (NATO code OF-8) used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. In modern armies, lieutenant general normally ranks immediately below general and above major general; it is equivalent to the navy rank of vice admiral, and in air forces with a separate rank structure, it is equivalent to air marshal.
