Famicom Detective Club
is an adventure game duology developed and published by Nintendo for the Family Computer Disk System. The first entry, was released in 1988, followed by a prequel released the next year titled In both games, the player takes on the role of a young man solving murder mysteries in the Japanese countryside. The duology was the first writing project for Yoshio Sakamoto, before he found greater success and recognition with ''Metroid''. The games were inspired by Enix's 1983 adventure game ''The Portopia Serial Murder Case'', horror films by Italian director Dario Argento, and detective novels by Japanese writer Seishi Yokomizo. Both games were only released in Japan and received positive reception from critics. Nintendo revisited the series on the Super Famicom with a remake of ''The Girl Who Stands Behind'' and an episodic Satellaview broadcast featuring a new story, ''BS Tantei Club: Yuki ni Kieta Kako''. commonly abbreviated as Nintendo R&D1, was Nintendo's oldest video game development team. It was known as before splitting in 1978. Its creation coincided with Nintendo's entry into the video game industry, and the original R&D1 was headed by Gunpei Yokoi. The Portopia Serial Murder Case
, often translated to ''The Portopia Serial Murder Case'' in English, is an adventure game designed by Yuji Horii and published by Enix. It was first released on the NEC PC-6001 in June 1983, and has since been ported to other personal computers, the Nintendo Famicom, and mobile phone services. In the game, the player must resolve a murder mystery by searching for clues, exploring different areas, interacting with characters, and solving item-based puzzles. The game features first-person graphics, nonlinear gameplay, an open world, conversations with non-player characters, branching dialogue choices, suspect interrogations, nonlinear storytelling, and plot twists. is a Japanese publishing company. With a number of controversial books that disturbed the Japanese society and its erotic manga comics, the company has established itself like a source of provocative "subculture" items. The Alfa DiskFax was a communication device created by Alfa Systems of the United Kingdom. It was launched in 1990. The DiskFax was designed to allow the transfer of digital files over a conventional telephone line to a remote DiskFax machine. In operation users would insert an PC-compatible floppy disc into the unit, at which point the data would be transmitted automatically to a receiver, which would write an image of the data on a local floppy disc. There were two models, one equipped with 5¼-inch, and 3½-inch drives, and a second with an internal hard drive for storing incoming data. Encrypted versions of the DiskFax were sold to the military and intelligence markets. The DiskFax was also used by Britain's Conservative Party during the 1992 general election. is a 1987 in video gaming, 1987 dating sim developed by Square (video game company), Square and Nintendo Research & Development 1, Nintendo R&D1, and published by Nintendo exclusively in Japan for the Famicom Disk System.
