False Advertising (band)
False Advertising are a British three-piece alternative rock group from Manchester and Oxford, England. Biography False Advertising was formed by Jen Hingley and Chris Warr in 2013, with Josh Sellers completing the lineup in 2014. Upon deciding that between them they could produce and release their own music, they set about writing and self recording their debut album. The band released their first single ‘Dozer’ and self-titled album ''False Advertising'' in 2015, in June 2016 they released a 7" single on Too Pure Singles Club. The band are noted for their live instrument swapping. The band received coverage by Total Guitar, The Skinny, DIY (magazine), NME, The Independent, Drowned In Sound and MusicRadar, where Jen was cited #8 in Music Radar's ‘Best New Guitarists in the world right now’ poll. Two Thousand Trees Festival
2000trees festival is an independent music festival held from Wednesday to Sunday on the second week of July at Upcote Farm, Withington, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. It offers a diverse selection of more than 120 acts across five stages, plus comedy, a large selection of food traders, themed bars and a headphone disco on the two main stages every night of the festival. It also won the Grass Roots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards 2010, 2013 and 2017 and the Best Medium-Sized UK Festival in 2018. 2000trees was started by six friends in 2007. The Inspiral Carpets
Inspiral Carpets are an English Rock music, rock band, part of the late-1980s/early-1990s Madchester movement. Formed in Oldham in 1980, the band's most successful lineup featured frontman Tom Hingley, drummer Craig Gill, guitarist Graham Lambert, bassist Martyn Walsh and keyboardist Clint Boon. Several line-ups were loosely used from 1980 until Lambert and singer Stephen Holt met at The Moor End indie disco in Oldham 1983. Holt sang on the first two independent singles. PRS for Music Limited (formerly The MCPS-PRS Alliance Limited) is a British music copyright collective, made up of two collection societies: the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) and the Performing Right Society (PRS). Zandari Festa
Zandari Festa is a three-day music festival and showcase held in various live music venues and other locations in the area around Hongik University in Seoul. Every year, it offers around 100 music acts from Korea and around the world, as well as music industry delegates representing festivals and labels. In cooperation with foreign embassies, each year it offers national showcases. There are also conference events, secret shows, and various other networking events throughout the festival. Robert Smith (musician)
Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English musician. He is the lead singer, guitarist, primary songwriter, and only continuous member of the rock band the Cure, which he co-founded in 1978. Meltdown is an annual festival held in London, featuring a mix of music, art, performance and film. Meltdown is held in June at Southbank Centre, the arts complex covering and including the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Hayward. Each year, the festival chooses an established music artist or act as director of the event, and they pick the performers of their choosing. Liverpool Sound City is an annual music festival and industry conference in Liverpool, England. Founded in 2008 by Dave Pichilingi (also founder of Modern Sky UK), Sound City was located in Liverpool City Centre venues, such as The Kazimier, The Zanzibar and the Liverpool Cathedral, until 2015 when it was relocated to Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool's historic docklands. SXSW
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days. Truck Festival
Truck Festival is an annual independent music festival in Oxfordshire, England. It was started in 1998 by the Bennett family (including the brothers Robin and Joe of the band Goldrush), who decided that mainstream festivals such as Glastonbury had become too commercial and predictable, however since 2012 it was sold off and is now more commercial. It is held in July at Hill Farm in Steventon, which lies between Abingdon, Didcot and Wantage. The festival also gave birth to the Truck Records label in 1999. The main stage was originally constructed from three large flatbed trucks, and a common misperception is that this is where the name of the festival comes from.
