Faisal Raza Abidi
Faisal Raza Abidi ( ur, فیصل رضاعابدی ) is a Pakistani political figure and a former senator representing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for Sindh Province, from March 2009 to January 2013. He also served as the party president of Karachi Division and held a high-ranking membership of the central committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Famous for his oratory skills, Faisal is also renowned for speaking non-hesitantly against Taliban and its assorted banned terror groups operating in Pakistan on national TV. Politically, he is allied with Sunni Ittehad Council representing majority Sunni Barelvi sect and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen representing Shia sect in Pakistan. Senate of Pakistan or Aiwān-e-Bālā Pākistān ( ur, , , literally "Pakistan upper house"), is the upper legislative chamber of the bicameral legislature of Pakistan, and together with the National Assembly makes up the Parliament of Pakistan. Abidi, Abedi or Al-Abedi ( ar, عابدي) is the surname for a family noble belonging to the offspring of Prophet Muhammad's great-grandson Imam Zain-ul-Abideen or Imam Abid whose real name was Ali ibn Husayn. They are a subset of the Banu Hashem Tribe and belong to the Sayyid community. Abidis (or people belonging to this noble family) can be found all over the world especially in Iran, Pakistan, India and Iraq. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry ( ur, ; born 12 December 1948) is a Pakistani jurist who served as the 20th Chief Justice of Pakistan over three non-consecutive terms from 29 June 2005 to 11 December 2013.
