Abidi
Abidi, Abedi or Al-Abedi ( ar, عابدي) is the surname for a family noble belonging to the offspring of Prophet Muhammad's great-grandson Imam Zain-ul-Abideen or Imam Abid whose real name was Ali ibn Husayn. They are a subset of the Banu Hashem Tribe and belong to the Sayyid community. Abidis (or people belonging to this noble family) can be found all over the world especially in Iran, Pakistan, India and Iraq. The family's origins are mostly from Iraq however due to service to the Islamic mission and often persecution of the Prophets family over the centuries the family has migrated to several locations. For generations the Abidi family has been essential to the spread of Islam in the Indo-Pak subcontinent. Faisal Raza Abidi
Faisal Raza Abidi ( ur, فیصل رضاعابدی ) is a Pakistani political figure and a former senator representing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for Sindh Province, from March 2009 to January 2013. He also served as the party president of Karachi Division and held a high-ranking membership of the central committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Famous for his oratory skills, Faisal is also renowned for speaking non-hesitantly against Taliban and its assorted banned terror groups operating in Pakistan on national TV. Bani Abidi
Bani Abidi (born 1971) is a Pakistani artist working with video, photography and drawing. She studied visual arts at the National College of Arts in Lahore and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2011, she was invited for the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin program, and since then has been residing in Berlin. Imam Zain-ul-Abideen
ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn ( ar, علي بن الحسين زين العابدين), also known as al-Sajjād (, ) or simply as Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn (), , was an Imam in Shiʻi Islam after his father Husayn ibn Ali, his uncle Hasan ibn Ali, and his grandfather, Ali. Asad Abidi
Asad Ali Abidi (born July 12, 1956) is a Pakistani-American electrical engineer. He serves as a tenured professor at University of California, Los Angeles, and is the inaugural holder of the Abdus Salam Chair at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He is best known for pioneering RF CMOS technology during the late 1980s to early 1990s. As of 2008, the radio transceivers in all wireless networking devices and modern mobile phones are mass-produced as RF CMOS devices. Abidi received his B.S. from the Imperial College London followed by a M.S. and PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 1981. He worked as an electrical engineer with Bell Labs and in January 1985 joined UCLA as a tenured academic. Javed Abidi
Javed Abidi (11 June 1965 – 4 March 2018) was an Indian activist who served as the director of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) in India, and the founder of the Disability Rights Group. He received an education in Journalism and Communication at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He set up the disability wing of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation in India, after being invited to do so by Sonia Gandhi. Early life Abidi was born on 11 June 1965 in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Hasan Abidi (Urdu: حسن عابدی) (7 July 1929 – 6 September 2005) was a Pakistani journalist, writer, political activist and an Urdu language poet.
