Fahrettin Cansever (1 January 1930 – 1 June 1987) was a Turkish international association football player and manager. Tekirdağ
Tekirdağ (; see also its other names) is a city in Turkey. It is located on the north coast of the Sea of Marmara, in the region of East Thrace. In 2019 the city's population was 204,001. Tekirdağ town is a commercial centre with a harbour for agricultural products (the harbour is being expanded to accommodate a new rail link to the main freight line through Thrace). It is also home to Martas and the BOTAŞ Terminal, both of them important for trade activities in the Marmara Region. The town's best known product remains Tekirdağ rakı although it is also known for its cherries, celebrated with a festival every June. The proximity of the Greek and Bulgarian borders means that there are honorary consulates for both countries in Tekirdağ town. Ferries from Tekirdağ sail to the nearby Marmara Islands during the summer. Konyaspor Kulübü (, Konya Sports Club) is a Turkish professional football club based in Konya. They are better known as Konyaspor. In 1922 Konyaspor were founded with the name Konya Gençlerbirliği and have played at their current home stadium, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium, since 2014. Konyaspor currently play in the Süper Lig, the top tier of Turkish football. The club colours are green and white. History Konyaspor were founded officially with the name Konya Gençlerbirliği on 22 June 1922. The Istanbul Football League ( tr, İstanbul Futbol Ligi) was founded as a regional football league under the name Constantinople Football Association League by James La Fontaine and Henry Pears in Istanbul, the capital of the former Ottoman Empire, in 1904. The Istanbul League was the first football organization ever in the Ottoman Empire and later Turkey. In the inaugural 1904–05 season the matches between the four teams, Moda FC, HMS Imogene, Elpis FC, and Cadi-Keuy FC were played on Sundays, leading to the name of the league, Istanbul Sunday League. Henry Pears, an Englishman and one of the three founders, promised to ultimately award the shield to the club with the most championships won during the initial 10 years. Cihat Arman
Cihat Arman (1915 in Istanbul – May 14, 1994 in Istanbul), was a Turkish football goalkeeper and manager. He represented Turkey at the 1936 Summer Olympics and the 1948 Summer Olympics. Biography Arman started playing club football at the age of 15 and made his debut for Ankaragücü. In 1936, he transferred to the Istanbul club Güneş. After the closure of this club, he moved to Fenerbahçe, where he played 308 games in total. He was nicknamed the "flying goalkeeper" due to his acrobatic and successful saves. The sight of him flying wearing his yellow shirt was the inspiration behind "The Yellow Canaries" (''Sarı Kanaryalar'' in Turkish), the nickname for the football team of Fenerbahçe. During World War II, international competitions were rarely held. So, Arman played only 13 games with the Turkey national football team during this time. 1950 FIFA World Cup
The 1950 FIFA World Cup was the fourth edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams and held in Brazil from 24 June to 16 July 1950. The planned 1942 and 1946 World Cups were cancelled due to World War II. This tournament ended the hiatus. Uruguay, who had won the inaugural competition in 1930, defeated the host nation, Brazil, in the deciding match of the four-team group of the final round.
