''Faces Places'' (stylized as ''FACES PLACES'') is the second studio album by Globe released on March 12, 1997. Album information Singles from the album were "Is This Love", " Can't Stop Fallin' in Love", "Face", "Faces Places" and " Anytime Smokin' Cigarette". Globe recorded the three songs "Is This Love", "Can't Stop Fallin' in Love" and "Face" by new arrangements on the album. ''Faces Places'' debuted at the number-one position within its first week with sales of over 1,648,000 copies on the Japanese Oricon weekly album charts. The album sold over three million copies and became the third best-selling album on the Oricon yearly album charts of 1997 behind GLAY's album ''Review'' and Mr. Children's album ''Bolero''. Globe (band)
is a dance-oriented Japanese pop band, formed in 1995 by producer and songwriter Tetsuya Komuro. Originally consisting of Komuro, Keiko Yamada and Marc Panther, the group's singles consistently hit the charts. In late 2002 Yoshiki, drummer and pianist for X Japan, joined the group, but he left the band about a year later. Their 1996 debut album, ''Globe'', sold over 4 million copies, and their 1998 single "wanna Be A Dreammaker" won the grand prix award at the 40th Japan Record Awards, the Japanese record industry's highest honor. Bolero (Mr
Bolero is a genre of song which originated in eastern Cuba in the late 19th century as part of the trova tradition. Unrelated to the older Spanish dance of the same name, bolero is characterized by sophisticated lyrics dealing with love. It has been called the "quintessential Latin American romantic song of the twentieth century". Unlike the simpler, thematically diverse ''canción'', bolero did not stem directly from the European lyrical tradition, which included Italian opera and canzone, popular in urban centers like Havana at the time. Instead, it was born as a form of romantic folk poetry cultivated by a new breed of troubadour from Santiago de Cuba, the ''trovadores''. Glay (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese rock band, formed in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan, in 1988.
