Fabrizio Comencini
Fabrizio Comencini (born 6 November 1953, in Garda) is an Italian politician. Comencini started his political career in the Italian Social Movement (MSI), for which he was elected to the Regional Council of Veneto in 1985 and 1990. In the early 1990s, during his second term in the Council, he switched to Liga Veneta– Lega Nord. In 1994 he was elected secretary of the party and in 1995 he was re-elected to the Council. During his tenure as leader, Lega Nord had its best electoral result so far in Veneto and in any other region, scoring 29.7% of the vote at the 1996 general election. In 1998 Comencini broke with Umberto Bossi in the name of Venetian nationalism as opposed to Padanian nationalism. Garda, Veneto
Garda is a town and ''comune'' on the shore of Lake Garda, in the province of Verona, Veneto, northeastern Italy. Garda is from Verona, and is one of the smallest towns in the whole province. Main sights The historical centre of the town, with narrow streets, is still intact. Gian Paolo Gobbo (Treviso, 1 April 1949) is an Italian politician. He is the President of Liga Veneta, the "national" section of Lega Nord in Veneto. In 1978–1980 he was a founding member of Liga Veneta. In 1990 and 1995, he was elected to the Regional Council of Veneto and was Vice President of Veneto from 1994 to 1995. Venetian nationalism (also Venetism, from the Venetian/Italian name, ''venetismo'') is a nationalist, but primarily regionalist, political movement active mostly in Veneto, Italy, as well as in other parts of the former Republic of Venice. Luca Zaia (born 27 March 1968) is a Venetian and Venetist politician, who has been President of Veneto since 2010. 2015 Venetian Regional Election
The Venetian regional election of 2015 took place in Veneto on 31 May 2015, as part of a big round of regional elections in Italy. Venetian voters elected their President and their Regional Council, whose members had been reduced to 51, including the President. Luca Zaia, incumbent President (elected in 2010 with 60.2% of the vote) and leading member of the Northern League (LN), was re-elected by a reduced majority, due to a split occurred within his party in the run-up of the election, but, despite this, his victory over Alessandra Moretti of the Democratic Party (PD), who fared quite badly, was still a landslide: 50.1% to 22.7%.
