Fabrice Bollon
Fabrice Bollon (born Paris, 1965) is a French conductor and composer. Biography Bollon studied with Michael Gielen and Nikolaus Harnoncourt in Paris and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He subsequently continued his studies with Georges Prêtre and Mauricio Kagel. In 2008, Bollon was appointed musical director of the Freiburg Opera. Under Bollon, the Freiburg Opera has recorded a series of lesser known operas for CPO, including Riccardo Zandonai's '' Francesca da Rimini'', Francesco Cilea's ''L'arlesiana () is an opera in three acts by Francesco Cilea to an Italian libretto by Leopoldo Marenco. The German libretto by Hermann Salomon Mosenthal sets a love triangle into the context of the Queen of Sheba's visit to the court of King Solomon, recorded in First Kings (largely copied in 2 Chronicles ). The plot centres on a love triangle not found in the Bible between the Queen of Sheba, Assad (an ambassador at the court of Solomon), and Sulamith (Assad's betrothed). The opera was first performed at the Hofoper (now the State Opera) in Vienna, on 10 March 1875. It became Goldmark's most famous opera and subsequent performances have been mounted internationally. Patrik Ringborg (born 1 November 1965) is a Swedish conductor, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Career Born in Stockholm, as a student Ringborg attended the Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm. After studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and with Kurt Bendix, Ringborg was a répétiteur at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm from 1989 to 1993, also assisting the Music Director and conducting performances in the Royal Opera House. He also assisted the Music Directors at the Semperoper in Dresden (1988) and at the Canadian Opera Company (1992). Principally active in Europe, his performances are characterized by precision and vivacity, aiding his ability to interpret the complex contemporary music he specialized in.
