Fabien Mercadal
Fabien Mercadal (born 29 February 1972) is a French professional football manager and former player who played as a defender. After an amateur playing career, he began managing in the fourth tier with Gap, going on to spend one season in Ligue 1 with Caen in 2018–19. He also led Tours, Paris FC, Dunkerque and Quevilly-Rouen in Ligue 2 and had a brief spell in the Belgian First Division A with Cercle Brugge. Playing career Mercadal was born in Manosque, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, to a Corsican father who had played in Division 3 for AJ Auxerre. Mercadal himself was in the youth ranks of Olympique de Marseille but suffered an injury that limited him to playing in the third and fourth divisions. Manosque
Manosque (; Provençal Occitan: ''Manòsca'' in classical norm or ''Manosco'' in Mistralian norm) is the largest town and commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. However, it is not the ''préfecture'' (capital) of the department, which is the smaller town of Digne-les-Bains. Manosque is located at the far eastern end of the Luberon near the Durance river. SM Caen
Stade Malherbe Caen (; commonly known as SM Caen, SMC, or simply Caen) is a French professional football team, based in the city of Caen in Normandy, that competes in the Ligue 2. The club was founded on 17 November 1913 by the merger of ''Club Malherbe Caennais'' and ''Club Sportif Caennais''. The team takes its name from François de Malherbe, a 17th century poet from Caen. The Championnat de France National ( en, French National Championship), commonly referred to as simply National or Division 3, serves as the third division of the French football league system behind Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. The French Division 3 was the third tier in the French football pyramid, after the Division 1 and Division 2, from 1971 to 1993. Although it was succeeded by the Championnat National 2, the Championnat National became the new third division.
