FSV Bayreuth
The FSV Bayreuth is a German association football club from the city of Bayreuth, Bavaria. The club was formed in a merger of the football departments of 1. FC Bayreuth and BSV 98 Bayreuth in May 2003. BSV was the product an earlier merger between VfB Bayreuth and TuSpo Bayreuth. History FSV Bayreuth The club was formed on 14 May 2003, when the football departments of 1. FC and BSV 98 Bayreuth merged. The two original clubs still exist and as non-football clubs. The new club started out in the tier-eight Kreisliga Bayreuth in 2003–04, where it finished in mid-table. In its second season, the club improved but it was not enough to earn promotion. The club took until its fourth season in the league win promotion by finishing first in the league. In its first season in the Bezirksliga Oberfranken-Ost, FSV finished in secure mid-field. The Kreisliga ( en, District League), along with the ''Kreisoberliga'' ( en, District Premier League) and the ''Kreisklasse'' ( en, District Class), are the lowest set of divisions in the German football league system, set at step 8 and below. Landesliga Bayern-Nord
The Landesliga Bayern-Nord ( en, State league Bavaria-North) was the sixth tier of the German football league system in northern Bavaria. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fifth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fourth tier. The winner of the Landesliga Nord was automatically qualified for the Bayernliga, the runners-up needed to compete with the runners-up of Landesliga Bayern-Süd and Landesliga Bayern-Mitte and the 15th placed team of the Bayernliga for another promotion spot. The league was disbanded in 2012, when the Regionalliga Bayern was introduced as the new fourth tier of the German league system in Bavaria. Below this league, the Bayernliga was expanded to two divisions while the number of Landesligas grew from three to five divisions. However, none of the new leagues carried the name Landesliga Bayern-Nord, with the Landesliga Bayern-Nordwest coming closest in territorial coverage.

Bezirksoberligen Bayern
The seven Bezirksoberligas Bayern were the third highest level of the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and the Landesliga Bayern from 1988 to 2012. They were the seventh tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the sixth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fifth tier. The Gauliga Bayern was the highest association football league in the German state of Bavaria from 1933 to 1945.
