FK Rudar Kostolac
FK Rudar Kostolac (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Рудар Костолац) is a football club based in Kostolac, Serbia. History Football started in the region with the beginning of the mining activity in the Klenovnik in 1933. At the end of the Second World War along with the creation of gymnastics society Rudar, the football section was formed as well. The football club is the older, most popular and most successful section of the sports society Rudar. After its creation, the club competed in the football leagues of Belgrade district, Braničevo district, Posavlje-Podunavlje Zone League, First and Second Serbian League and Inter-Republic League North (one of the subdivisions of the Yugoslav Second League). In the Cup, Rudar Kostolac was the district champion for 25 times, and participated in three occasions in the final tournament of the Yugoslav and Serbian Cup. The City municipality of Kostolac ( sr-cyrl, Градска општина Костолац, Gradska opština Kostolac is a town in Serbia and one of two city municipalities which constitute the City of Požarevac. It is situated on the Danube river. The remains of the Roman capital of the province of Moesia Superior Viminacium are located near Stari Kostolac some 2 km to the east of Kostolac. Kostolac is also a center of area called Stig and home of thermal power plants and coal mines. History A 1.5 million year old mammoth skeleton was uncovered in the Viminacium site in June 2009. Dunav Zone League ( Serbian: Зонска лига Дунав / Zonska liga Dunav) was one of the Serbian Zone League divisions, the fourth tier of the Serbian football league system. It was run by the Football Association of West Serbia. Founded in 2007, the league folded in 2018, together with the Drina Zone League and Morava Zone League. The Serbian Cyrillic alphabet ( sr, / , ) is a variation of the Cyrillic script used to write the Serbian language, updated in 1818 by Serbian linguist Vuk Karadžić. It is one of the two alphabets used to write standard modern Serbian, the other being Gaj's Latin alphabet. Karadžić based his alphabet on the previous Slavonic-Serbian script, following the principle of "write as you speak and read as it is written", removing obsolete letters and letters representing iotified vowels, introducing from the Latin alphabet instead, and adding several consonant letters for sounds specific to Serbian phonology. The Serbian Cup ( Serbian: Куп Србије, Kup Srbije) is the national football cup of Serbia. The winner of the competition gets a spot in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round. From 2006 to 2010, the competition was known as the Lav Cup for sponsorship reasons.
