FIBA Europe Young Women's Player Of The Year Award
The FIBA Europe Young Women's Player of the Year Award was an annual Player of the Year (POY) award given by FIBA Europe, the European division of FIBA World, the international governing body of the sport of basketball, to the best female basketball player with European citizenship, aged 22 and under of the year. The inaugural award was given out in the year 2005 to Anete Jēkabsone of Latvia. The award was a calendar year by calendar year award, and was not a season by season award. The vote was decided upon by a panel of basketball experts and also by fan voting. Nika Barič (born 2 September 1992) is a Slovenian basketball player who currently plays for Nika Syktyvkar. She was selected in the second round of the 2012 WNBA draft (20th overall) by the Minnesota Lynx but was waived in May 2016 without ever having played for the team. Ángela Salvadores Álvarez (born 10 March 1997) is a Spanish basketball player for Galician team Durán Maquinaria Ensino. She played for Duke Blue Devils during the 2015–16 season. Astou Ndour-Fall ( Ndour; born August 22, 1994) is a Spanish professional basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for Çukurova Basketbol of the Turkish Women's Basketball League. Emma Meesseman (born 13 May 1993) is a Belgian professional basketball player for Fenerbahçe of the EuroLeague Women and the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). After playing basketball in Belgium, Meesseman was drafted by the Washington Mystics with the 19th overall pick in the second round of the 2013 WNBA draft.
