FC Poltava
FC Poltava ( uk , ФК Полтава) was a Ukrainian football club based in Poltava in 2007–2018. History The club was created by the newly elected mayor of the Poltava city Andriy Matkovsky (2006-2010) who is the club's Honorary President and the main sponsor. FC Poltava entered the professional leagues for the 2007–08 season in the Druha Liha B without playing a single game at amateur level. The first coach of the main team was Oleksandr Omelchuk who previously coached FC Vorskla-2 Poltava. FC Poltava started the season trepidly but in the second half they improved a great deal. The team's goal is to train players for the teams of the Premier League and First League. The club also has intentions to reestablish the forgotten Poltava derby that in the Soviet times took place between teams of Kolkhospnyk (today's Vorskla) and Lokomotyv. The 2012–13 Ukrainian First League will be the 22nd since its establishment. The competition commenced on 13 July 2012 when Obolon Kyiv visited Sumy and played a goalless draw against FC Sumy. The 2011–12 Ukrainian Second League was the 21st season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. There are two groups of competition divided by region. Both Group competitions began on July 23, 2011. The competition had a winter break from November 6, 2012 and until April 2, 2012. The group competitions will complete on 28 May 2012. The 2010–11 Ukrainian Second League was the 20th season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competitions were divided into two groups according to geographical location in the country – A is western and northern Ukraine and B is eastern and southern Ukraine. The first game of the season was played on July 23, 2010 in Group A between Chornomorets-2 Odesa and Desna Chernihiv. The competition had a winter break and resumed April 9, 2011 with a rescheduled match in Group B that was moved forward from its originally scheduled date of April 22, 2011. The Ukrainian Cup ( uk, Кубок України) is an association football national knockout cup competition run by the Ukrainian Association of Football. The competition is conducted almost exclusively among professional clubs. Since the 2003–04 season, the Cup winner qualifies to play the Ukrainian Premier League winner for the Ukrainian Super Cup. Current format The format of this competition consists of two stages: a qualification stage with two rounds followed by the main event (four rounds and the final game). The competition involves all professional clubs plus the two finalists of the Ukrainian Amateur Cup (since 2011). Past variations of the competition involved a home-away type of elimination, but the Ukrainian Cup has since changed to a single game per round format. Volodymyr Prokopynenko ( uk, Володимир Юрійович Прокопиненко; born 8 November 1962) is a Ukrainian coach Speranța Nisporeni of Moldovan National Division and former footballer. Prokopynenko is better known playing for FC Vorskla Poltava with which he started back in 1980. He also spent some time in FC Naftokhimik Kremenchuk that competed in lower leagues. After retiring, Prokopynenko returned to FC Vorskla Poltava where he managed reserve teams.
