Köniz
Köniz (, ) is a statistical town, however considers itself still as a village, and a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district right on the southern border to Bern in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The municipality of Köniz as a single settlement would belong to the 15 most populous towns in Switzerland. It is also part of the larger agglomeration of Bern of about 400,000 inhabitants. The official language of Köniz is (the Swiss variety of Standard) German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect. History The current municipality has long been inhabited; there have been a number of Bronze- and Iron Age finds, as well as Roman villas (''villae rusticae'') and Early Middle Ages graveyards. Bernard Pulver
Bernhard Pulver (born 15 November 1963) is a Swiss retired football goalkeeper and later manager. He is businessman, real estate manager and chairman of FC Köniz. Football career Playing career Pulver played his youth football with FC Bern and advanced to the first team during the 1982–83 season. FC Bern played in the Nationalliga B, the second tier of Swiss football, but they were relegated at the end of that season. Pulver had stood between the posts on seven occasions and after their relegation he stayed with the club for a further four years. Pulver then moved on and joined FC Basel's first team for their 1987–88 season under head-coach Urs Siegenthaler. After playing in five test games Pulver played his domestic league debut for his new club in the first game of the season, an away game, on 8 August 1987 as Basel were defeated 1–2 by Aarau. The Promotion League, named the YAPEAL Promotion League for sponsorship reasons, is the third tier of the Swiss football league system. Eighteen clubs compete in the league, playing each other twice over the course of the season. Stephan Andrist (born 12 December 1987) is a Swiss football midfielder who plays for FC Schötz. He is a former youth international. Club career As a child Andrist played for FC Dürrenast, but he came through the ranks at FC Thun. Andrist was called into their first team in 2007 and played his debut on 22 September in the home game against FC Luzern. Under head coach René van Eck Andrist became a regular in the team, but at the end of the 2007–08 Super League season, Thun finished last in the table and suffered relegation. In September 2008 Andrist suffered a tibia and fibula fracture, which kept him out of the team for more than a year.
