FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk
Football Club Dnipro ( uk, Футбо́льний Клуб «Дніпро́», ) was a Ukrainian football club based in Dnipro. The club was owned by the Privat Group that also owns BC Dnipro and Budivelnyk Kyiv. In 2018 FC Dnipro was forced into bankruptcy by FIFA due to multiple legal claims for failing to pay its promised monetary compensation to players and managers. During the Soviet era, the club was a member of the Soviet Volunteer Sports Society "Metallurg" (therefore it carried names Metallurg/Metalurh and Stal) and until 1961 was under sponsorship of the Petrovsky Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Plant. After that, the club was sponsored by the Southern Machine-building Plant Yuzhmash and carried both names Russian Dnepr and Ukrainian ''Dnipro'', while Dnepr was also used for international competitions. FC Ararat Yerevan
Football Club Ararat Yerevan ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Արարատ Երևան), commonly known as Ararat Yerevan, is an Armenian association football, football club based in Yerevan that plays in the Armenian Premier League. Since 1999, the club is owned by the Switzerland Armenian businessmen Vartan Sirmakes. The badge shows a white eagle standing on a football and is a reference to the club nickname. The Ukrainian Cup ( uk, Кубок України) is an association football national knockout cup competition run by the Ukrainian Association of Football. The competition is conducted almost exclusively among professional clubs. Since the 2003–04 season, the Cup winner qualifies to play the Ukrainian Premier League winner for the Ukrainian Super Cup. Current format The format of this competition consists of two stages: a qualification stage with two rounds followed by the main event (four rounds and the final game). The competition involves all professional clubs plus the two finalists of the Ukrainian Amateur Cup (since 2011). Past variations of the competition involved a home-away type of elimination, but the Ukrainian Cup has since changed to a single game per round format. Oleg Protasov
Oleh Valeriyovych Protasov ( uk, Олег Валерійович Протасов; born 4 February 1964) is a Ukrainian and Soviet former footballer who played as a striker. He was a key member of the Soviet Union national team throughout the 1980s; his 28 goals for the Soviet Union are second in the team's history, behind Oleh Blokhin's 42. It should be considered that his first name is often spelled as Oleg on most of international rosters, particularly during his playing career. Between October 2014 and March 2015, he was the head coach of Romanian club Astra Giurgiu. Evgeny Kucherevsky
Yevhen Mefodiyovych Kucherevskyi ( uk, Євген Мефодiйoвич Кучеревський, russian: Евгений Мефодьевич Кучеревский) (6 August 1941 – 26 August 2006) was a Ukrainian football coach. He is most famous for his spells managing Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, which, under his helm, won the Soviet Championship in 1988, took 2nd place twice in 1987 and 1989, as well as the USSR Cup in 1989. Dnipro's recent success in the first half of the 2000s is mostly attributed to his coaching as well. On 26 August 2006, Kucherevskyi's Mercedes-Benz suffered a head-on collision with a KAMAZ truck. The much respected coach died an hour and half later in a hospital, without regaining consciousness. Upon Kucherevskyi's funeral, the Dnipropetrovsk mayor, Ivan Kulichenko, announced the plan to name one of the city streets to the celebrated coach.
