FC Amberg is a German football club from the city of Amberg, Bavaria. The team was established on 6 April 1921 as ''Amberg Fußballverein'' and on 17 January 1939 adopted the name ''Verein für Leibesübungen Amberg''. __TOC__ History Following World War II on 9 November 1945 the club merged with ''Turnverein 1861 Amberg'' to form ''Turn- und Spielverein Amberg''. Bezirksliga Oberpfalz-Nord
The Bezirksliga ( en, County League) is commonly a medium set of amateur divisions set at steps 7, 8 or 9 in the German football league system. Structure Depending on the structural organisation within each of the 21 state football associations of the German Football Association, the Bezirksliga either falls under the state association's jurisdiction or one of its subsidiary county football associations that organise their divisions mostly following the borders of the corresponding government districts. In the league pyramid, the Bezirksliga always ranks below the superior state association's divisions, typically being the Verbandsliga and the Landesliga but ahead of the district associations' Kreisliga. Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. Promotion And Relegation
In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. In some leagues, playoffs or qualifying rounds are also used to determine rankings. This process can continue through several levels of divisions, with teams being exchanged between adjacent divisions. The Landesliga Bayern sits at step 6 of the German football league system and is the third highest level in the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and organised in five regional divisions. The current Landesligas were formed in 1963, when the Bundesliga was established. From 2012, when the Regionalliga Bayern was established, the Landesligas were expanded from three to five divisions. Bezirksoberligen Bayern
The seven Bezirksoberligas Bayern were the third highest level of the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and the Landesliga Bayern from 1988 to 2012. They were the seventh tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the sixth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fifth tier. Overview The seven Bezirksoberligas were introduced in 1988 to create a highest single-division playing level for each of the seven Bezirke.
