FBS Radio Network is a Philippine national broadcaster, radio broadcast network. with offices and broadcast headquarters located in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila. Its flagship station is Mellow 947, while its AM stations are DWBL 1242 and DWSS 1494. History Leonida "Nida" Laki-Vera and her husband Luis Vera began their broadcast business as the Freedom Broadcasting System (FBS) in the 1970s. FBS launched its first station DWBL. A year later, FBS established its FM station DWLL 94.7 (Mellow Touch). Radio personalities such as Butch Gonzales, Rudolph Rivera, and newscaster Ernie Fresnido who worked for DWBL and Mellow Touch throughout the late 70s. As time passed by towards the 1990s, the couple transferred the ownership of FBS to their children, namely Luis Jr. ("Luigi") and Lena. Ultrasonic Broadcasting System, Inc. (UBSI) is a Philippine radio network owned by the SYSU Group of Companies, a conglomerate owned by the Sy family. UBSI owns a number of FM stations across the country under the Energy FM brand. History UBSI was founded by the Sy family in 1991 with the launch of K-LOVE 1494. In 1996, UBSI hired former station manager of DZMB and radio consultant Manuelito "Manny" F. Luzon as general manager. Under Luzon's management, he conceptualized a new FM network called Energy FM. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City, and its transmitter is located at BSP Camp, Capitol Hills, Brgy. Lahug, Cebu City. This station operates 24/7.
