FA Sápmi is a Association football, football association which is the organizer of the Sápmi football team representing the indigenous Sámi people. It is a member of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (ConIFA), but not a member of either FIFA or UEFA. President of the FA Sápmi is Håkan Kuorak from Jokkmokk, Sweden. FA Sápmi was established in March 2014 as the successor of the 2003 founded ''Sámi Football Association'' (SSL, sme, Sámi Spábbáčiekčanlihttu), which had not been active in few years and had some financial trouble. Håkan Kuorak
Håkan is a common Swedish given name. It has a common origin with the Norwegian given name Haakon (modern Norwegian Håkon, Danish Hakon) in the Old Norse ''Hákon''. The meaning of the name is disputed but a possible meaning is "high son" from Old Norse ''há-'' ( Proto-Norse ''hauha-'') (high) and ''konr'' (kin). On Swedish runestones the name is usually written ''Hakun'' and in medieval documents usually ''Haquon'' or in the Latinised versions ''Haqvin''/''Haqvinus''. Sápmi Football Team
The Sápmi football team is a football team representing the Sámi people, who inhabit northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. The team is not a member of UEFA or FIFA, and therefore does not participate in their competitions, though is member of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations. It is organized by FA Sápmi. Tournament history Sápmi participated in the KTFF 50th Anniversary Cup in 2005 in Northern Cyprus, losing matches against Northern Cyprus and Kosovo and finishing third. In November 2006, Sápmi took part in – and won – the inaugural VIVA World Cup in Occitania, organised by the NF-Board. Sápmi overcame both the host nation and Monaco to win the trophy, scoring an impressive 42 goals in 3 games. Jokkmokk
Jokkmokk (; smj, Jåhkåmåhkke or ; se, Dálvvadis; fi, Jokimukka) is a locality and the seat of Jokkmokk Municipality in Norrbotten County, province of Lapland, Sweden, with 2,786 inhabitants in 2010. The Lule Sami name of the place (composed of the individual words and ) means "River's Curve," due to the meandering river that runs through it. As in other towns in Lapland, the Swedish language is dominant at an official level in Jokkmokk in modern times. The settlement is just north of the Arctic Circle. 2014 ConIFA World Football Cup
The 2014 ConIFA World Football Cup was the first edition of the ConIFA World Football Cup, an international football tournament for states, minorities, stateless peoples and regions unaffiliated with FIFA organised by ConIFA and a successor of Viva World Cup, last held in 2012. The tournament was hosted by FA Sápmi in the Sápmi region, with all games held in the city of Östersund in Sweden. Tournament Twelve teams took part in the tournament. Catalonia and Rapa Nui were thought to be potential participants, but ultimately declined or withdrew.
