"För kung och fosterland" is a song written by Magnus Uggla and Anders Henriksson and performed by Uggla in Melodifestivalen 2007. The song participated in the semifinal in Gävle on 24 February 2007, and reached Andra chansen in Nyköping on 3 March 2007, but failed to reach the finals. The song lyrics criticise consumer society. On 5 March 2007, the single was released, peaking at number 11 on the Swedish singles chart. The song also charted at Svensktoppen, entering the chart on 1 April 2007, ending up at number 10. Magnus Uggla
Per Allan Magnus Claësson Uggla (pronounced ; born 18 June 1954) is a Swedish artist, composer, actor, and occasional radio host. He is known for his satire, satirical lyrics. Uggla was born in Stockholm. He was the lead singer of the hard rock band JUSO (later renamed Alexander Lucas) before going solo in the early 1970s. Their influences were Black Sabbath, The Groundhogs and Alice Cooper, among others. Uggla's first two glam rock, glam- and art rock-inspired albums ''Om Bobbo Viking'' and ''Livets teater''ˈ did not sell well, the first only about 500 copies in Sweden and ''Livets teater'' even less. Melodifestivalen 2012 is a Swedish song contest that was held between 4 February and 10 March 2012. It selected the fifty-second Swedish entry to be internationally represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 (ESC 2012). As in the editions between 2009–2011, a maximum of eight people were allowed on stage, while only persons of 16 years or over are eligible. However, in accordance with Eurovision rules, only six people were allowed on stage for the Swedish entry at Eurovision. The main singer(s) were required to perform vocals live on stage.
