Félix Díaz (boxer)
Félix Manuel Díaz Guzman (born 10 December 1983) is a Dominican professional boxer who challenged for the unified WBC, WBO, and ''The Ring'' light welterweight titles in 2017. As an amateur he won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics and bronze at the 2003 Pan American Games. Amateur career The aggressive Southpaw brawler participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics for his native Caribbean country. There he lost 28:16 in the first round of the Lightweight (60 kg) division to Kazakhstan's eventual bronze medalist Serik Yeleuov. At the PanAm Games 2007 he lost the quarterfinal 12:13 to Inocente Fiss. He qualified for the 2008 Olympics by defeating Myke Carvalho 8:6. Light welterweight, also known as junior welterweight or super lightweight, is a weight class in combat sports. Boxing Professional boxing In professional boxing, light welterweight is contested between the lightweight and welterweight divisions, in which boxers weigh above 61.2kg or 135 pounds and up to 63.5 kg or 140 pounds. The first champion of this weight class was Pinky Mitchell in 1946, though he was only awarded his championship by a vote of the readers of the ''Boxing Blade'' magazine. Manus Boonjumnong ( th, มนัส บุญจำนงค์; , born June 23, 1980) is a Thai boxer who won the Olympics at Light Welterweight (60–64 kg) at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He is the older brother of Non Boonjumnong. Alexis Vastine (17 November 1986 – 9 March 2015) was a French boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the Light Welterweight division. He also competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals in a controversial decision. Myke Michel de Carvalho (born October 28, 1983 in Belém do Pará) is a Brazilian retired amateur boxer, best known for his participation in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics and for winning bronze medals at the Panamerican Games in 2007 and 2011. Inocente Fiss Carballosa (born June 7, 1980) is a Cuban boxer best known to win bronze at the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships in the men's junior welterweight division.
