The Fédération étudiante universitaire du Québec (FEUQ) (in English : ''University student federation of Quebec'') was a federation of university students' unions created following the lifting of the tuition freeze in 1989. It included 9 member associations, which represent more than 71 000 Quebec university students. The organization was dissolved on April 23, 2019. The University of Sherbrooke ( French: Université de Sherbrooke) (UdS) is a large public French-language university in Quebec, Canada with campuses located in Sherbrooke and Longueuil, a suburb of Montreal approximately west of Sherbrooke. It is one of two universities in the Estrie region of Quebec (the other one being Bishop's University), and the only French-language university for the region. The Table de concertation étudiante du Québec (''Quebec Student Roundtable'') is a federation of students' unions formed in 2009. As of April 23, 2012, while the 2012 Quebec student protests, it comprises 60,000 students grouped into four member unions; by March 23, 2014, after many disaffiliation, it comprises 28,000 members, part of only one member union. Unlike the FEUQ or the Association pour une solidarité syndicale étudiante, it does not charge fees from students within their member unions for funding. Association Pour Une Solidarité Syndicale étudiante
The Association pour une solidarité syndicale étudiante (ASSÉ) was a Canadian student union founded in February 2001 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, which contained about 56,000 CEGEP and university-level students in 34 member student unions throughout Quebec. The ASSÉ positioned itself distinctly from the other province-wide student unions, the Fédération étudiante universitaire du Québec (FEUQ), the Fédération étudiante collégiale du Québec (FECQ) and the Table de concertation étudiante du Québec (TaCEQ), namely rejecting hierarchical leadership structures in favor or autonomous and horizontal approaches. The ASSÉ formed the core of the Coalition large de l'ASSÉ (CLASSE), a temporary coalition created to counter the tuition hike and coordinate 2012 Quebec student protests. The Fédération étudiante collégiale du Québec (FECQ) (in English : ''College students federation of Quebec'') is a federation of college student unions, created in March 1990 after the failure of the 1989 strike (its first motto was «Plus jamais la grève!», in English: ''The strike, never again!''). The FECQ mainly use lobbying with political parties to represent the students interests.
