Fédération Malienne De Cricket
The Malian Cricket Federation (french: Fédération Malienne de Cricket, FeMaCrik) became an associate member of the International Cricket Council in 2017. The Malian Cricket Federation was co-founded by Mr Kawory Berthe, a Malian English-teacher and Dr Phil Watson from Wales, in 2003. The first-ever cricket tournament in Mali was held in 2003 between different classes at Kalanso school, where Kawory Berthe was the English teacher and Phil Watson's children were enrolled. After three years of growing the game, the remodeled FeMaCrick became Mali's 25th officially recognised sports federation. In May 2007, Mali sent an adult, men's team to participate in the inaugural North & West African Championship in Banjul, Gambia. ICC Members
The International Cricket Council (ICC) was founded at Lord's on 15 June 1909 as the Imperial Cricket Conference, with Australia, England, and South Africa as its founding members. In the beginning, only countries within the Commonwealth could join. India, New Zealand and the West Indies joined in 1926, and Pakistan joined in 1953. In 1961, South Africa resigned from the Conference due to their leaving the Commonwealth, but they continued to play Test cricket until their international exile in 1970. The Imperial Cricket Conference was renamed the International Cricket Conference in 1965, with new rules permitting countries from outside the Commonwealth to be elected into the governing body for the first time: Fiji and the USA became the first Associate Member nations that year. The Mali national cricket team is the team that represents Mali in international cricket. The Malian Cricket Federation (FCM) became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2005 and an associate member in 2017. The Mali national women's cricket team is the team that represents Mali in international women's cricket. The team is organised by the Malian Cricket Federation and is nicknamed the "Lady Eagles of Cricket" (French: ''Les Aigles Dames de cricket''). It made its international debut in 2015 and has played in regional tournaments in Africa, but is yet to participate in an International Cricket Council (ICC) pathway event. Cricket Administration
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket.
