Charles Fynn
Charles Garnet Fynn (24 April 1897 — 26 August 1976) was an English first-class cricketer. Fynn was born at Marylebone in April 1897. He began his club cricket as a young fast bowler, but was wounded during the First World War and as a result he never bowled fast again. After the war he reinvented himself as a leg break googly bowler, making his debut in first-class cricket for Hampshire against Lancashire at Bournemouth in the 1930 County Championship. He took the wickets of Jack Iddon and Malcolm Taylor with his first over in first-class cricket. He played first-class cricket for Hampshire until 1931, making nine appearances. Fynn took 11 wickets in his nine matches, at an average of 40.54, with best figures of 3 for 92. As a tailend batsman, he scored 45 runs with a highest score of 21. Henry Francis Fynn (29 March 1803 in Grosvenor Square, London, England – 20 September 1861 in Durban, Natal, South Africa) was an English traveler and trader. He was among the first Europeans to make contact with Shaka Zulu. Fynn, Coenraad De Buys, John Dunn and Nathaniel Isaacs were among the most famous of South Africa's so-called ''White Chiefs''. Early life Henry Francis Fynn was born in London in 1803. He was the first of five children of Henry and Elizabeth Fynn. His father worked for the East India Company, serving aboard an EIC ship sailing between London and Cape Town, until losing his post in 1806. By 1807, his father and mother had sold their property in England and had moved to Cape Town. Fynn, however, stayed in London with his aunt, who in 1809 successfully petitioned for his admission to Christ's Hospital. James Henry Finn (sometimes Fynn) VC (24 November 1893 – 30 March 1917) was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was also awarded the Order of Karageorge, which is Serbia's equivalent to the Victoria Cross. Early life Finn was born in St Clement near Truro, Cornwall. His father, John Finn, served in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry in the Boer War, and again in the Special Reserve during the First World War. James Finn served as a territorial soldier with the 5th Battalion, DCLI before moving to the South Wales Valleys looking for work. He eventually found employment at the colliery at Cwmtillery near Abertillery. Warrick Francis Sinclair Fynn (born 19 April 1985) is a South African former first-class cricketer. Fynn was born at Durban in April 1985. He was educated at Maritzburg College and Michaelhouse, before going up to Nelson Mandela University. He made his debut in first-class cricket for KwaZulu-Natal against Free State in the 2004–05 UCB Provincial Cup, taking 3 wickets in the match. He later played first-class cricket for Eastern Province between 2006/07–2009/10, making nine appearances. Fynn Jake Hudson-Prentice (born 12 January 1996) is an English cricketer who plays for Sussex County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. He previously played for Sussex and Derbyshire. He made his List A debut for Sussex against Glamorgan in the 2014 Royal London One-Day Cup, on 20 August 2014. On 24 October 2014, Hudson-Prentice signed his first professional contract with Sussex, after graduating from the club's academy; he had played for Sussex since the age of 10.
