AFC Fylde Women is an English women's football club affiliated with AFC Fylde and currently playing in the . History The club was formed under the name Duke of York in 1971, as founder members of the North West Women's League. They were renamed Preston Rangers W.F.C. in 1977 and reached the semi finals of the FA Women's Cup in 1982–83 and 1989–90. In 1997, they became Preston North End W.F.C. and finished 1997–98 as champions, winning promotion to the Northern Combination Women's Football League. In 1999, the club was officially affiliated with Preston North End F.C. The club won the Northern Combination Women's Football League in 2005–06 and were promoted into the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division for the first time. AFC Fylde is a professional football club based in Wesham in the Borough of Fylde, Lancashire, England. They are currently members of the and play at Mill Farm. Originally known as Kirkham & Wesham following a merger of Kirkham Town and Wesham in 1988, the club adopted its current name in 2008 after winning the FA Vase. In 2007, the club announced the goal of reaching the Conference National by 2017 and the Football League by 2022, the latter objective being printed on club shirts. Mill Farm Sports Village is a multi-sport facility located on the outskirts of the town of Wesham in the Borough of Fylde in Lancashire, England. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Zoe Tynan
Zoe Tynan (20 May 1998 – 30 August 2016) was an English footballer who played as a midfielder for Manchester City and Fylde Ladies. Club career Having signed for Manchester City's academy in 2015, Tynan was given her first team debut when she played all 90 minutes of a FA Women's Cup quarter-final against Sporting Club Albion on 3 April 2016. Though she did not play any further matches for Manchester City, her performance drew the attention of FA Women's Premier League side Fylde Ladies for whom she signed in the summer of 2016. Emily Hollinshead (born 13 September 1995) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a winger and striker for Fylde and the Wales national team. Early life Hollinshead was born in Crewe, England. When she was 11, Hollinshead challenged a ban from The Football Association on girls over 11 not being allowed to play in the same football team as boys. After her father threatened legal action against The FA for sex discrimination, they announced that they were either considering changing the age limit to under-14 level or allow a special dispensation for one year to allow girls to play in boys teams. Danielle Young
Danielle Young is an English footballer who plays as a forward for Fylde. Club career Danielle Young spent much of her career at Manchester City, playing with them from her teenage years until 2014. Though she was part of City's team in their first year as a professional side in the 2014 season when they joined the FA WSL, Young featured only intermittently and finally parted with the club at the end of the season. She was signed shortly afterwards by WSL 2 side Everton but made only three appearances before opting to take a break from football in July 2015. Hannah Forster (born 22 February 1991) is an English female football midfielder. She currently plays for Fylde Ladies F.C. She was born in Wigan. Club career Forster joined Blackburn's centre of excellence in the 2006 close season, after a successful trial, and was a regular on the bench the following season for the first team in the FA Women's Premier League. In February 2007 Forster came on a substitute for Rovers in the final of the Lancashire Cup, scoring one of six goals as Rovers retained the trophy.
