Fuzzy Logic
Fuzzy logic is a form of many-valued logic in which the truth value of variables may be any real number between 0 and 1. It is employed to handle the concept of partial truth, where the truth value may range between completely true and completely false. By contrast, in Boolean logic, the truth values of variables may only be the integer values 0 or 1. The term ''fuzzy logic'' was introduced with the 1965 proposal of fuzzy set theory by Iranian Azerbaijani mathematician Lotfi Zadeh. Fuzzy logic had, however, been studied since the 1920s, as infinite-valued logic—notably by Łukasiewicz and Tarski. Little Fuzzy
''Little Fuzzy'' is a 1962 science fiction novel by H. Beam Piper, now in public domain. It was nominated for the 1963 Hugo Award for Best Novel. The story revolves around determining whether a small furry species discovered on the planet Zarathustra is sapient. It features a mild libertarianism that emphasizes sincerity and honesty. The book was followed by a sequel, '' Fuzzy Sapiens'' (original title ''The Other Human Race'') published in 1964, the same year that Piper died by suicide. In the wake of Piper's suicide, rumor spread of a lost "second sequel"; in 1981, at the behest of Ace Books, William Tuning produced the critically acclaimed '' Fuzzy Bones''. Fuzzy Markup Language (FML) is a specific purpose markup language based on XML, used for describing the structure and behavior of a fuzzy system independently of the hardware architecture devoted to host and run it. Overview FML was designed and developed by Giovanni Acampora during his Ph.D. course in Computer Science, at University of Salerno, Italy, in 2004. The original idea inspired Giovanni Acampora to create FML was the necessity of creating a cooperative fuzzy-based framework aimed at automatically controlling a living environment characterized by a plethora of heterogeneous devices whose interactions were devoted to maximize the human comfort under energy saving constraints. Frank Urban "Fuzzy" Zoeller Jr. (; born November 11, 1951) is an American professional golfer who has won ten PGA Tour events including two major championships. He is one of three golfers to have won the Masters Tournament in his first appearance in the event. He also won the 1984 U.S. Open, which earned him the 1985 Bob Jones Award. Fuzzy Hufft
Irvin Victor "Fuzzy" Hufft (August 2, 1901 – October 28, 1973) was an American professional baseball outfielder. He played in the Pacific Coast League for the Seattle Indians, Mission Reds, and Oakland Oaks (PCL), Oakland Oaks from 1926 to 1932. He is a member of the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame, PCL Hall of Fame. Career Hufft began playing baseball as a semi-professional in Springfield, Missouri. He signed with the Springfield Midgets of the Class C (baseball), Class C Western Association late in the 1923 season due to an injury to Runt Marr and made his professional debut as a third baseman. He returned to Springfield for the 1924 season, but new manager (baseball), manager Boss Schmidt decided to play Hufft as an outfielder. John Forrest "Fuzzy" Knight (May 9, 1901 – February 23, 1976) was an American film and television actor. He was also a singer, especially in his early career. He appeared in more than 180 films between 1928 and 1967, usually as a cowboy hero's comic sidekick. Fuzzy was an American indie pop band based in Boston during the 1990s. The band was composed of singer-guitarists Hilken Mancini and Chris Toppin, and bassist Winston Braman. The drummer role was filled by David Ryan of Lemonheads for their first two records, and Nate Darden for ''Hurray For Everything''. The first Fuzzy release was the ''Fuzzy EP'', a CD of the band's demo recordings, released by Australian label Half a Cow. Frederick Charles "Fuzzy" Thurston (December 29, 1933 – December 14, 2014) was an American football player who played offensive guard for the Baltimore Colts and the Green Bay Packers. Early years Born and raised in the small western Wisconsin town of Altoona, Thurston accepted a basketball scholarship to Valparaiso University in northwest Indiana, and didn't play collegiate football for the Crusaders until his junior season (1954). He played basketball because his high school didn't have a football team. Thurston played junior varsity basketball as a 190-pound freshman at Valparaiso before gaining 40 pounds and joining the football team his sophomore year. He led Valparaiso to an Indiana Collegiate Conference title and was twice selected All-American. Jens Vilhelm Pedersen, also known as Fuzzy, (23 February 1939 – 13 October 2022) was a Danish composer and musician. A student of Per Nørgård, Karlheinz Stockhausen, György Ligeti, and Jan Bark, he taught music history and theory at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus until 1978. His music spanned a wide range of genres from jazz, over film music, to experimental electronic music. In 1972, he composed the music for the Rainer Werner Fassbinder TV series ''Eight Hours Don't Make a Day'' under the pseudonym Jean Gepoint. Fuzzy died on 13 October 2022, at the age of 83. Robert P. "Fuzzy" Vandivier (December 26, 1903 – July 30, 1983) was an American high school and collegiate basketball player during the 1920s. At Franklin High School he led a squad nicknamed "Franklin Wonder Five", a team that compiled an 89-9 record, won three state championships (1920, 1921, 1922) and is considered the greatest Indiana High School team of all-time. Vandivier was named All-State three times (1920, 1921, 1922), becoming the first player ever to achieve this feat (since then, John Wooden, Oscar Robertson and George McGinnis also achieved this level of success).
