Fuzhou China Open
The Fuzhou China Open, formerly known as China Masters, is an annual badminton tournament held in China. It became part of the BWF Super Series tournaments in 2007. In 2014 the level of the tournament was downgraded to BWF Grand Prix Gold because, although China bid in the autumn of 2012 to continue to host 2 BWF Super Series tournaments, the Changzhou bid was unsuccessful and the China Masters was replaced for the 2014–2017 Superseries cycle by the Australian Open. In 2018, the tournament became a part of World Tour Grade 2 Level 3 tournament (BWF World Tour Super 750) and acquire its current name. From 2023 onwards, this will be held in Shenzhen Shenzhen (; ; ; ), also historically known as Sham Chun, is a major sub-provincial city and one of the special economic zones of China. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Chen Jin (badminton)
Chen Jin (born 10 January 1986) is a retired badminton player from China. He is a former world men's singles champion and an Olympic bronze medalist. He also served as women's singles coach of the China national badminton team. Career 2004–2008 Since winning the Asian Junior Championships in 2004, Chen developed into one of the world's elite men's singles players. His titles include the 2004 Polish International, 2004 French International, 2006 German Open, 2007 Swiss Open, and 2007 Macau Open. Chen also captured the China Masters title in 2006, and in 2008 he won his biggest title to date, the prestigious All England Open Badminton Championships over his teammate and then-world number one, Lin Dan. Zheng Bo
Zheng Bo (; born 26 November 1983) is a badminton player from Hunan, China. Career A doubles specialist, Zheng won men's doubles at the 2003 Indonesia Open with Sang Yang. Zheng and Sang also secured the winning point against Denmark in the final of the 2004 Thomas Cup, to clinch China's first men's world team title since 1990. Most of his international titles, however, have come in mixed doubles. Zheng won the 2002 French Open with Zhang Yawen and the 2006 Hong Kong Open with Zhao Tingting. Liliyana Natsir
Liliyana Natsir (born 9 September 1985) is an Indonesian former badminton player who specialized in doubles. She is one of the standout front court player, with dexterousness and skill in controlling and executing the shuttlecock. Natsir has tremendous record over more than two decade by winning a gold and a silver from the Olympic Games, and four gold medals at the BWF World Championships. Her achievements are recognized worldwide, and was inducted in the BWF Hall of Fame in 2022. Natsir was ranked world number 1 in the mixed doubles with two different partner. Vita Marissa
Vita Marissa (born 4 January 1981) is an Indonesian retired badminton player. Career Marissa competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in mixed doubles with partner Nova Widianto. They had a bye in the first round and defeated Robert Blair and Natalie Munt of Great Britain in the second. In the quarterfinals, Marissa and Widianto lost to Jens Eriksen and Mette Schjoldager of Denmark 15–12, 15–8. In September 2008 Marissa and her new partner Muhammad Rijal won in mixed doubles at the Japan Super Series after beating Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir 14–21, 21–15, 21–19 in the all Indonesian final. Xie Xingfang
Xie Xingfang (born January 8, 1981) is a retired Chinese badminton player from Guangzhou, Guangdong. She is a former defending two-time world champion for women's singles, and former women's singles World No. 1. Her first big title was in girls' doubles, with her provincial team mate Zhang Jiewen, at the World Junior Championships in 1998. She has also won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in mixed doubles with Cai Yun. Zhang Yawen (; born 9 March 1985) is a badminton player from China. Career Zhang has specialized in women's doubles and mixed doubles, earning numerous international titles in both events. Huang Sui (; born 8 January 1982) is a Chinese-Australian female badminton player. Career Although Huang has won the Chinese National mixed doubles title almost all of her many international titles have come in women's doubles with Gao Ling, in a partnership where Huang's strength and consistency in the backcourt have complemented Gao's ability in the forecourt.
