"Futureal" is a single from the Iron Maiden album ''Virtual XI'', released in 1998. It is the last single by the band to feature vocalist Blaze Bayley, as he parted ways with the band in February 1999. Synopsis The song was voted as one of the most popular Iron Maiden songs of all time in a fan poll taken during the making of the ''Ed Hunter'' album and video game. The cover of the single depicts band mascot Eddie, in CG form, as the cyborg form he had on '' Somewhere in Time''. A 1999 live recording of this song appears on the band's next single release, "The Wicker Man". The single came with a poster by Derek Riggs. ''Virtual XI'' (pronounced "Virtual Eleven") is the eleventh studio album by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 23 March 1998. It is the band's second and final album with Blaze Bayley on vocals. It also marks the first album to utilise a slightly modified logo, with the letters R, M, and N the same size as the other letters as opposed to them being extended. This goes on for the next few albums, until ''The Final Frontier'', in 2010. Background ''Virtual XIs title is tied in with two extra-musical events: the release of the band's computer game, ''Ed Hunter'', and the fact that the 1998 FIFA World Cup would be taking place in June of that year. "The Wicker Man" is a song by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It was released on 8 May 2000 as the first single and opening track from their twelfth studio album, ''Brave New World'' (2000). It preceded the release of ''Brave New World'' by three weeks. It is also the first single by the band since 1989's single "Infinite Dreams" to feature "The Trooper"-era lineup with vocalist Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith returning to the band in 1999. It was co-written by Smith, Dickinson and Steve Harris. It was co-produced by Kevin Shirley and Harris. The title is inspired by the British cult film of the same name. The game objective consists of following Iron Maiden's mascot, Eddie, through various levels depicting the band's past album covers. "The Angel and the Gambler" is a single from the Iron Maiden album ''Virtual XI'', released in 1998. It preceded the release of ''Virtual XI'' by two weeks. Synopsis It is the first Iron Maiden single to feature a video as a B-side. It is also the first Iron Maiden single to use the band's alternate logo with the extended ends of the "R", "M", and both "N's" removed. This variant would be used on all future singles until 2010's "El Dorado". Blaze Bayley (born Bayley Alexander Cooke, 29 May 1963) is an English heavy metal singer. He was the lead singer of Wolfsbane from 1984 to 1994 (and currently since 2010, following reunions in 2007 and 2009). He was also the lead singer of Iron Maiden during Bruce Dickinson's absence from 1994 to 1999. Since then, he has pursued a solo career and has released ten studio albums. Early life Bayley was born Bayley Alexander Cooke in Birmingham on 29 May 1963. Nicko McBrain
Michael Henry "Nicko" McBrain (born 5 June 1952) is an English musician, best known as the drummer of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden since 1982. Having played in small pub bands since 1966 from the age of 14, McBrain paid his bills after graduating from school with session work before he joined a variety of artists, such as Streetwalkers in 1975, Pat Travers, and the French political band, Trust. He joined Iron Maiden (replacing Clive Burr), in time to debut on their fourth album ''Piece of Mind'' (1983), and has remained with them since, contributing to a total of fourteen studio releases, as well as being the third-longest serving member of the band.
