''Future of the Past'' is Destiny's fifth album. Released in 2004, it was the band's first album featuring former Falconer frontman Kristoffer Göbel on vocals. This album is the first one being recorded in the band's own studio DRS (later mixed at StudiOmega by Christian Silver). Destiny is a Swedish heavy metal band that was formed in 1980 by Stefan Björnshög (bass) and Magnus Österman (guitar). The band has released seven albums to date. Their debut album ''Beyond All Sense'' was released in 1985 and their latest one, ''Climate Change'', in October 2016. The band categorises its music as "mörk rock", which in English translates to "dark rock". Stefan Björnshög is the only remaining member from the original line-up. History The band's history traces back to 1980 when bassist Stefan Björnshög first met guitarist Magnus Österman. Together they formed the band Hexagon but soon changed its moniker to Destiny. Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Beyond All Sense 2005
''Beyond All Sense 2005'' is Destiny's sixth album, a re-recording of their 1985 album ''Beyond All Sense'', and was released on May 11, 2005. The original album was only released in Sweden in a limited number of 2000 copies of vinyl. Most of the music on the album was written by former Destiny guitarists Magnus Österman and John Prodén, and lyrics were largely from former Destiny singer Håkan Ring. "Lost to Heaven" (acoustic) and "Destiny" from the 1985 album were replaced by two previously unreleased bonus tracks. "Ode to You", originally written in 1983 and called "Please Don't Go", was rewritten by vocalist Kristoffer Göbel as a tribute to Dimebag Darrell after his 2004 death. The second bonus track, "No Way Out" (originally "He Is Free"), was cut from the 1985 album due to the time limit on vinyls and was rewritten by Göbel for the 2005 album. Falconer was a Swedish power metal band from Mjölby, formed in 1999 by the former guitarist of Mithotyn, Stefan Weinerhall. Falconer carried on many of the traditions set by Weinerhall's previous band and played a fusion style of power metal that utilizes folk instrumentation and melody to create a more medieval sound. Biography Origins In 1992, the blackened death metal act Cerberus was founded by Stefan Weinerhall, Christian "Christer" Schütz and Johan, who left shortly afterward. After one year, they renamed themselves Mithotyn. As Mithotyn, they did not release an album until 1997. Mats Johan Olausson (17 April 1961 – 18 February 2015) was a Swedish keyboard player known from bands such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Ark, Evil Masquerade, Kamelot, Jean Beauvoir, John Norum John Norum (born 23 February 1964) is a Norwegian-Swedish guitarist and one of the founders of the rock band Europe.
