Future Film Festival
The Future Film Festival (FFF) is an international film festival dedicated to animation and special effects, held annually since 1999 in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna. History The press center, media accreditation office, round tables, and relaxation area are grouped in the "Future Village", located in the Palazzo Re Enzo on Piazza Nettuno. Giulietta Fara has been the director of the Future Film Festival since 1999. It's a film festival - open to professionals, enthusiasts, and the simply curious - whose aim is to discover and promote animation and new technologies applied to cinema, particularly among young audiences and artists from different cultures and nations. The competition features a selection of feature films and a selection of shorts, screened in one or more downtown cinemas. Prizes are awarded for the best use of new digital technologies, and the "Grand Prix Platinium" is awarded to the best film in the competition. Stéphane Aubier
Stéphane Aubier (born October 8, 1964) is a Belgian film director and screenwriter. In 2009, he wrote and directed the animated film ''A Town Called Panic (film), A Town Called Panic'' along with Vincent Patar. It premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and was the first stop-motion film to be screened at the festival. In 2013, he co-directed with Patar and Benjamin Renner the film ''Ernest & Celestine'', which received widespread critical acclaim. The film received three Magritte Awards, including Magritte Award for Best Film, Best Film and Magritte Award for Best Director, Best Director for Aubier and Patar. is a 2014 Japanese animated historical drama film directed by Mizuho Nishikubo and produced by Production I.G and co-produced and presented by the Japan Association of Music Enterprises. Bill Plympton (born April 30, 1946) is an American animator, graphic designer, cartoonist, and filmmaker best known for his 1987 Academy Awards-nominated animated short '' Your Face'' and his series of shorts featuring a dog character starting with 2004's ''Guard Dog''. Early life Plympton was born in Portland, Oregon, the son of Wilda Jean (Jerman) and Donald F. Plympton, and was raised on a farm in nearby Oregon City with five siblings: Sally, Tia, Peggy, David and Peter. From 1964 to 1968, he studied Graphic Design at Portland State University, where he was a member of the film society and worked on the yearbook. Hiroyuki Okiura
is a Japanese animation director and animator working for Production I.G. Career Okiura left high school at the age of 16 and entered the animation industry as a member of the studio Anime R, where he studied under Moriyasu Taniguchi and which Taniguchi superintends.
