Futari Daka
is a Japanese motorcycle racing manga written and illustrated by Kaoru Shintani. It received the 1984 Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen manga. The series focuses on Sawatari Taka and Toujou Taka as they compete with each other and other competitors in motorcycle racing. Their names means "hawk" and "falcon", respectively. The manga was adapted as a 36 episode anime series broadcast on Fuji TV between September 20, 1984, and June 21, 1985. The anime premiered in France on March 11, 1990, and was released on La Cinq and Mangas. Only 32 were aired in France. This was one of the last series to be animated by Kokusai Eiga-sha. Kaoru Shintani
is a Japanese manga artist. Shintani is best known for his series ''Area 88''. In addition to his pilot comics, Shintani has ventured into science fiction, fantasy, comedy, and hentai comics as well. In 1985, he was awarded the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen for ''Area 88'' and ''Futari Daka''. Shintani began his career in 1972 as a shōjo artist and was nominated for the Ribon Comics Award for best new artist of that year. After working as an assistant to Leiji Matsumoto, the creator of ''Space Pirate Captain Harlock'' and ''Galaxy Express 999'' and the creative director for ''Space Battleship Yamato'', Shintani began to publish aviator titles in various comic magazines. Serialization of ''Area 88'' began in 1979 and the title has been popular ever since. Mangas is a French television channel dedicated to anime. History of the channel AB Cartoons was launched in 1996 as a youth channel on the AB Sat package. It showed Japanese animation (anime) already shown on ''Club Dorothée'' on TF1. Due to the popularity of the genre with young adults and teens as well as criticism of the violence shown in the programmes, the channel was renamed Mangas, on 1 September 1998 using the logo of the magazine ''D.MANGAS'' (the former Dorothée Magazine, although the show on TF1 had ended in 1997). On February 15, 2011, the channel switched to 16:9 format. During the first few weeks after this change, programs in 4:3 format remain in their original format, before being quickly displayed in 14:9 format. Shogakukan Franchises
is a Japanese publisher of dictionaries, literature, comics (manga), non-fiction, DVDs, and other media in Japan. Shogakukan founded Shueisha, which also founded Hakusensha. These are three separate companies, but are together called the Hitotsubashi Group, one of the largest publishing groups in Japan. Shogakukan is headquartered in the Shogakukan Building in Hitotsubashi, part of Kanda, Chiyoda, Tokyo, near the Jimbocho book district. The corporation also has the other two companies located in the same ward. David Aldana
David Aldana (born November 26, 1949) is an American former professional motorcycle racer who specialized in dirt track oval racing and road racing. In the 1970s, he was one of the more colorful racers in the A.M.A. Grand National Championship with his wild riding style and extravagant designs on his riding attire. Aldana competed in nearly every form of motorcycle racing, including competing in the 1970 Trans-AMA motocross series and speedway racing. Born in Santa Ana, California, Aldana became a rookie expert on the AMA Grand National circuit in 1970 riding for BSA. Aldana made a serious challenge for the championship. Hideo "Pops" Yoshimura (October 7, 1922 – March 29, 1995) was a Japanese motorcycle tuner, race team owner, and manufacturer of speciality motorcycle accessories.
