André-Philippe Futa
André-Philippe Futa (August 26, 1943 – October 1, 2009) was a politician in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was originally from Miabi in Tshilenge District. Biography André-Philippe Futa Mudiumbula Tshitumbu Tshipadi was born in Miabi, Tshilenge District, Democratic Republic of Congo as the only son of Kabongo wa Mfuta wa Kalubi and Tshiambuaya Marie-Madeleine. He was a member of the royal family of Bena Mbayi and Bakwa Dishi. Futa was admitted to the Official University of Congo (UOC), where he studied agronomic sciences and graduated with distinctive honors as an agricultural engineer. He then moved to Kamina, where he became the head of the regional Companie des Grands Elevages de Katongola. In 1972, he became assistant professor at Université National du Zaïre. Futa (red Panda)
Futa (born 2003) is a male red panda (''Ailurus fulgens'') in the zoo of Chiba, Japan. In 2005, he became a visitor attraction and a television celebrity in Japan for his ability to stand upright on his hind feet for about ten seconds at a time. At the time, this feat drew about 6,000 visitors to the zoo each weekend and resulted in Futa's appearance in a soft drink television advertisement. Futa was still at it in 2020, aged 15, equivalent to a human age of 70. Fouta Towel
The fouta (also spelled futa) is a piece of thin patterned cotton or linen fabric of Yemeni origin used in many Mediterranean countries and Yemen. Among other uses, they were worn, by both men and women, wrapped around the body while at the public baths in 19th-century Syria. In Algeria, conservative women wore the fouta draped over their '' sarouel'' garment. Similarly, in some parts of southern Saudi Arabia, men would wear the fouta as a loincloth beneath their ''thawb'' robes, or just by itself while relaxing at home. Foutas are widely used today in the occidental world as Turkish bath towels (hammam towels) or even beach towels. It is also used as headwear in Somalia some examples could be the Somali aristocracy, Dubats and the general Somali male population who wear it similar to a turban. Futa Helu (17 June 1934 – 2 February 2010) was a Tongan philosopher, historian, and educator. He studied philosophy under the Australian empiricist John Anderson and in 1963 launched an educational institute named Atenisi (Tongan for Athens, to pay homage to the ancient Greek philosophers, Herakleitos in particular). The institute began as a continuing education programme for civil servants, then initiated a high school in 1964 and a university in 1975. Life Helu was born on 17 June 1934 in the village of Lotofoa on the island of Foa in the Haapai archipelago in the (Polynesian) Kingdom of Tonga. Yasunosuke Futa
was a village chief and also an architect in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. He built an aqueduct, Tsujun Bridge, which improved the fertility of the land. History Futa inherited the post of village chief at the age of twenty-three. At the age of thirty, he was entrusted to extend rice fields and was provided with the funds to do so. He became a full-fledged village chief at the age of thirty-two. Within that same year, he was awarded a prize for successfully keeping nationwide famine away from his village. Futa undertook the construction of the notable Tsujun Bridge, which was completed on July 29, 1854. He was recognized and lauded for his contributions to the village, particularly by Lord Hosokawa for the bridge. He remained village chief until he died on 3 April 1873, at the age of seventy-one. The Federal Unemployment Tax Act (or FUTA, ) is a United States federal law that imposes a federal employer tax used to help fund state workforce agencies. Employers report this tax by filing an annual Form 940 with the Internal Revenue Service. In some cases, the employer is required to pay the tax in installments during the tax year. FUTA covers a federal share of the costs of administering the unemployment insurance (UI) and job service programs in every state. In addition, FUTA pays one-half of the cost of extended unemployment benefits (during periods of high unemployment) and provides for a fund from which states may borrow, if necessary, to pay benefits. The Imamate of Futa Toro () (1776-1861) was a West African theocratic monarchy of the Fula-speaking people (''Fulɓe'' and Toucouleurs) in the middle valley of the Senegal River. The region is known as Futa Toro. Origins Futa Toro is a strip of agricultural land along both sides of the Senegal River. The people of the region speak Pulaar, a dialect of the greater Fula languages spanning West Africa from Senegal to Cameroon. They identify themselves by the language, which gives rise to the name ''Haalpulaar'en'' (those who speak Pulaar). The ''Haalpulaar'en'' are also known as Toucouleur people, a name derived from the ancient state of Takrur. From 1495 to 1776, the country was part of the Denanke Kingdom. The Denianke leaders were a clan of non-Muslim Fulbe who ruled over most of Senegal.
