Guido Malatesta
Guido Malatesta (1919 – 14 June 1970), born in Gallarate, Italy, was a film director and screenwriter. He began working as a professional journalist. After he moved to Rome, he was drawn to cinema, as creator of treatments, then scriptwriter and assistant director, and finally becoming director in 1957 with the film ''The Billionaires''. He continued to make films until a few days before his death in 1970. He was known for his Peplum movies and having a simple fun style without being overdone by plot. His most popular of the present remains ''Colossus and the Headhunters'' and ''Fire Monsters Against the Son of Hercules''. The former is notable for having no monsters which went against the tradition of the sword and sandal genre as well as being the subject of a 1994 episode of the popular movie-mocking television show ''Mystery Science Theater 3000''. Edmund Purdom
Edmund Anthony Cutlar Purdom (19 December 19241 January 2009) was an English actor, voice artist, and director. He worked first on stage in Britain, performing various works by Shakespeare, then in America on Broadway and in Hollywood, and eventually in Italy. He is perhaps best known for his starring role in 1954's historical epic ''The Egyptian''. By taking over important roles exited by Mario Lanza and Marlon Brando, Purdom was known by the mid-1950s as "The Replacement Star". After the failure of his Hollywood career, Purdom returned briefly to the United Kingdom and then settled in Italy, where he spent the remainder of his life appearing in local films. Between the 1970s and 1990s, he was a regular in European genre cinema, working with directors like Juan Piquer Simón, Joe D'Amato, Sergio Martino and Ruggero Deodato. Rossana Podestà (born Carla Dora Podestà; 20 June 1934 – 10 December 2013) was an Italian actress who worked mainly in Italy from the 1950s to the 1970s. Biography Podestà was born in Tripoli in the Italian colony of Libya. She spent her first years there, moving to Rome after World War II. At sixteen she was discovered by director Léonide Moguy during the preparation of the cast for the film '' Domani è un altro giorno''; this inaugurated a career in which she participated in sixty films, in Italy and abroad. In Italy, she resided in Dubino (Sondrio province). She married and then divorced movie producer Marco Vicario. From 1980 she lived with the mountain climber, explorer and journalist Walter Bonatti, who died alone in 2011, aged 81, at a private clinic where the hospital management would not allow his partner of more than 30 years to spend the last minutes of his life together because the two were not married. Biography He played minor roles in some memorable commedia all'Italiana movies directed by the likes of Dino Risi and Mario Monicelli. Vittoria Febbi (born February 13, 1939) is an Italian actress and voice actress. Biography Born in Eritrea's capital city and raised in Italy, Febbi began her career as a child actress in 1949 starring in Luigi Zampa's '' Alarm Bells''.
