Furslide
Furslide was an alternative rock band from New York, NY. They released one full-length album, called ''Adventure'', which was released on Meanwhile..., a sublabel of Virgin Records created by Nellee Hooper, on October 6, 1998. History Their lead vocalist, Jennifer Turner, was playing as a guitarist on the Tigerlily tour with Natalie Merchant, when Turner formed Furslide together with Jason Lader and Adam MacDougall in early 1997. Furslide was the first band on Nellee Hooper's new label Meanwhile... when they were signed in 1998. They released their first album, ''Adventure'', in fall 1998 and played a couple of shows subsequently in the US, the UK and across Europe and opened for Lenny Kravitz on October 8, 1998, in Detroit.They were the support act for Kula Shaker, Alanis Morissette and Ben Folds). Jennifer Turner (musician)
Jennifer "Jen" Turner is a singer/songwriter musician and producer. Career 1991–1997: session and touring guitar player Turner first became popular for her work writing and touring with Natalie Merchant on her multi-platinum album ''Tigerlily'' as guitarist and backing vocalist alongside Peter Yanowitz on drums and Barrie Maguire on bass guitar. She then went on to play acoustic guitar on the Mary J Blige album ''Share My World''. Jason Lader is an American record producer, audio engineer, and mixer from New York. He is also known for playing bass guitar, keyboards, piano, guitar, and as a programmer. Adam MacDougall (born August 1974 in New York City, New York), is the keyboardist who replaced Rob Clores in The Black Crowes in time to record '' Warpaint'' in July 2007. Chrissie Hynde
Christine Ellen Hynde (born September 7, 1951) is an American musician. She is a founding member and the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the rock band the Pretenders, and one of the band's two remaining original members alongside drummer Martin Chambers. Hynde formed the Pretenders in Hereford, England in 1978, with Pete Farndon, James Honeyman-Scott and Chambers. She has also recorded a number of songs with other musicians including Frank Sinatra, Cher and UB40. She recorded her first solo album, ''Stockholm'', in 2014. Hynde was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 as a member of the Pretenders. Early life Hynde was born in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of a part-time secretary and a Yellow Pages manager.
