Furina Barnardi
The yellow-naped snake (''Furina barnardi''), also known commonly as Barnard's snake, is a small species of venomous snake in the family Elapidae. The species is native to northeastern Australia. Etymology The specific name, ''barnardi'', is in honor of Australian zoologist Henry "Harry" Greensill Barnard (1869–1966). Geographic range ''F. barnardi'' is found in northeastern Queensland, Australia. www.reptile-database.org. Habitat The preferred natural habitats of ''F. barnardi'' are forest and rocky areas. James Roy Kinghorn (12 October 1891 – 4 March 1983), generally known as Roy, or J. R. Kinghorn, was an Australian naturalist, a longtime curator at the Australian Museum, and a noted lecturer and broadcaster. Harold George "Hal" Cogger (born 4 May 1935) is an Australian herpetologist. He was curator of reptiles and amphibians at the Australian Museum from 1960 to 1975, and Deputy Director of the museum from 1976 to 1995. Richard Shine
Richard Shine (born 7 June 1950) is an Australian evolutionary biologist and ecologist; he has conducted extensive research on reptiles and amphibians, and proposed a novel mechanism for evolutionary change. He is currently a Professor of Biology at Macquarie University, and an Emeritus Professor at The University of Sydney. Early life Rick Shine was born in Brisbane in 1950.
