Fulong Beach
Fulong Beach, also known as Fulong Bathing Beach (), is located at Fulong Village, Gongliao District, New Taipei, Taiwan. It is the outlet of the Shuang River. History The beach was opened to the public on 22 June 1975. The resort at the beach was initially operated by Taiwan Railways Administration and was later transferred to the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration of Tourism Bureau. Geology The beach's sands are golden, which is rare in Taiwan. The Shuang River divides the beach into inner and outer parts. Recently the sands have been diminishing year by year, and the coastline is moving shoreward; i.e., the beach is shrinking, possibly related to the staithe built for the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant of Taiwan for equipment disembarking. Gongliao District
Gongliao District (; originally ) is a rural district in the eastern part of New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is the easternmost district on the main island of Taiwan and at its easternmost tip is Cape Santiago. Yilan County, alternately spelled I-lan, is a County (Taiwan), county in northeastern Taiwan, Republic of China. Name The name ''Yilan'' derives from the Taiwanese indigenous peoples, indigenous Kavalan people. Pingxi District (; also spelled Pinghsi), is a rural district in New Taipei, Taiwan. The source of the Keelung River is in Jingtong, which is inside Pingxi District. Shenkeng District
Shenkeng District () is a rural district in central New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. Formerly an agricultural and mining town, it is now famous for its numerous tofu restaurants and vendors. History The area is first recorded as the preserve of a tribe of Pingpu aborigines during the Qing dynasty period in Taiwan. When Han Chinese farmers eventually moved in to develop the area, they bought the low-lying land from the aborigines and began cultivation in the main valley. The modern name of the township, Shenkeng, literally means ''deep pit'' or ''deep mine''. The area used to have several active coal mines. The name has also been explained with reference to the mountains surrounding Shenkeng on all sides, which make the terrain similar to a pit. Muzha District
Muzha/Mucha () was a district in Taipei City, Taiwan. The name refers to wooden fences built in the region to defend against attacks by Taiwanese aborigines. In 1990, it merged with Jingmei District and become eastern parts of new created Wenshan District. During Qing rule, the area belonged to Tamsui Ting.
