Gloria Fuertes García (28 July, 1917 – 27 November, 1998) was a Spanish poet and author of children's literature. She was part of the Spanish literary movement known as '' postismo (post-ism)'' that began after the Spanish Civil War. Active in the Spanish artistic movement known as Generation of '50, Fuertes was known as a singular voice in Spanish post-war poetry. She was also known in Spain for her children's television shows. Her work focused on gender equality, pacifism, and environmentalism. Early life Fuertes was born on 28 July, 1917 in Madrid, Spain. Her mother was a seamstress and maid, and her father was a beadle. Esteban Óscar Fuertes (born 26 December 1972) is an Argentine former footballer. Club career In July 1999, Fuertes was purchased for £2.3m by Jim Smith, manager of Derby County in England. He scored two early goals, the winner against Everton in the league and another against Swansea City in the League Cup. However, weeks later, he was refused entry back into Britain when immigration officials discovered that his Italian passport was forged. Derby were able to sell him on to Lens in France for £2.8m. Fuertes retired from professional football on 25 June 2012 in a match against Banfield scoring two goals. Estevan Antonio Fuertes (May 10, 1838 – January 16, 1903) was a Puerto Rican-American civil engineer and professor of astronomy at Cornell University. Biography Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Estevan Antonio Fuertes was the son of Estevan and Demetria Cherbonnier Fuertes. He received his education at Salamanca, Spain, and at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, New York. José María Mohedano Fuertes (1948, Madrid, Spain) is a Spanish lawyer and politician who belongs to the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). Mohedano gained a degree in law from the Complutense University of Madrid and also qualified to be a journalist through a church school.
