''Qué pena tu vida'' ( es, Qué pena tu vida) is a 2010 Chilean comedy film written and directed by Nicolás López. It is part of a trilogy that includes (2011) and (2013). Plot The film follows the struggles of Javier (Ariel Levy), a 29-year-old advertising professional who loses both his job and his girlfriend, Sofía (Lucy Cominetti). Months later, he attempts to reconcile with her but discovers that she has moved on with someone else. He then begins to see his best friend, Ángela (Andrea Velasco), in a new light and realizes the significance of her presence in his life. Nicolás López (director)
Nicolás Javier López Fernández (born March 16, 1983) is a Chilean film director, producer and screenwriter. He is known for comedies such as ''Promedio Rojo'' (2004), the ''Qué pena'' trilogy (2010-2012), and the Paz Bascuñán vehicles '' Sin filtro'' (2016) and ''No estoy loca'' (2018). In June 2018, a few months after López begun working on a film project about the MeToo movement, the magazine ''Sábado'' of ''El Mercurio'' published a report where various actresses made claims of sexual and workplace abuses against him. In an ensuing trial, López was in 2022 found guilty of two sexual abuse charges and sentenced to five years and one day in prison. Life and work López became interested in filmmaking at a young age.
