Bishkek
Bishkek ( ky, Бишкек), ), formerly Pishpek and Frunze, is the capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is also the administrative centre of the Chüy Region. The region surrounds the city, although the city itself is not part of the region but rather a region-level unit of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is situated near the Kazakhstan–Kyrgyzstan border. Its population was 1,074,075 in 2021. In 1825, the Khanate of Kokand established the fortress of Pishpek to control local caravan routes and to collect tribute from Kyrgyz tribes. On 4 September 1860, with the approval of the Kyrgyz, Russian forces led by Colonel Apollon Zimmermann destroyed the fortress. In the present day, the fortress ruins can be found just north of Jibek jolu street, near the new main mosque. In 1868, a Russian settlement was established on the site of the fortress under its original name, Pishpek. It lay within the General Governorship of Russian Turkestan and its Semirechye Oblast. Sentianivka
Sentianivka ( uk, Сентянівка; russian: link=no, Сентяновка), known as Frunze ( uk, Фрунзе) from 1930 to 2016, is a rural settlement in Kadiivka urban hromada, Alchevsk Raion ( district), Luhansk Oblast ( region), Ukraine, at about 43 km WNW from the centre of Luhansk city, on the banks of the Luhan River. Population: History 19th and 20th century The origins of Sentianivka go back to the 1860s-1880s in the Russian Empire, when three villages named Sentianivka, Novoselivka, and Krasnohorivka were founded on the lands of a retired military officer with the surname ''Sentianin'', who had served in the Bakhmut hussar regiment. In 1901, there were riots in Sentianivka against mistreatment by a landlord. Rioters burned down a brick factory and granaries. Cossack authorities suppressed the rebellion. Фрунзе), or in full the Military Order of Lenin and the October Revolution, Red Banner, Order of Suvorov Academy in the name of M. V. Manas International Airport ( ky, Манас эл аралык аэропорту, Manas El Aralyk Aeroportu ; russian: Международный аэропорт «Манас») is the main international airport in Kyrgyzstan, located north-northwest of the capital Bishkek. Mikhail Frunze
Mikhail Vasilyevich Frunze (russian: Михаил Васильевич Фрунзе; ro, Mihail Frunză; 2 February 1885 – 31 October 1925) was a Bolshevik leader during and just prior to the Russian Revolution of 1917. Born in the modern-day Kyrgyz Republic, he became active with the Bolsheviks and rose to the rank of a major Red Army commander in the Russian Civil War of 1917–1918. He is best known for defeating Baron Peter von Wrangel in Crimea. The capital of the Kirghiz SSR (modern Bishkek) was named in his honor from 1926 until 1991, when the Soviet Union was dissolved. Frunze Vaghinaki Dovlatyan ( hy, Ֆրունզե Վաղինակի Դովլաթյան; May 26, 1927 in Gavar – August 30, 1997 in Yerevan) was an Armenian film director and actor. People's Artist of USSR (1983). Biography Frunze Dovlatyan was born in Gavar, Soviet Armenia. He was a theater actor before becoming a director. Kadamjay
Kadamjay ( ky, Кадамжай; russian: Кадамжай, earlier also Кадамджай) is a city located in Kadamjay District of Batken Region of Kyrgyzstan. Its population was 14,049 in 2021. It is the administrative seat of Kadamjay District. Kadamjay is located between the towns of Aydarken (Khaidarkan) (to the west) and Kyzyl-Kyya (to the east), and north of the Uzbek exclave Shohimardon. The river Shohimardonsoy (Kyrgyz: ''Shaymerden'') passes through Kadamjay. From 1937 until 2006, the town was officially known as "Frunze".
