Fruitvale is a village in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. It is east of the city of Trail along Highway 3B. Early community One of eight original stations on the Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway opened in 1893, the location was named Beaver Siding. The name Fruitvale appeared in 1907, promoting a new subdivision. Despite the climate being unsuitable for fruit growing, the settlement prospered and was incorporated as a village in 1952. Geography The village of Fruitvale lies in the Beaver Valley, which is made up of Fruitvale, Beaver Falls, and Montrose. Demographics In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Fruitvale had a population of 1,958 living in 858 of its 881 total private dwellings, a change of from its 2016 population of 1,920. Fruitvale Road Railway Station
Fruitvale Road railway station is on the Western Line of the Auckland railway network. It is near local schools, including two major high schools. The station was opened on 28 September 1953. In 2006–2007, the station was closed over summer to be upgraded, and lengthened for 6-car trains. The station is known as the final confirmed place of missing French teenager Eloi Rolland, who went missing from Piha on 7 March 2020. Station name It is named after a nearby road. The road is not very well known, thus new passengers will most likely have no idea which suburb this station serves. It has been proposed to rename it 'Kelston' since it is in that suburb. It is located approximately 4 miles (6.44 km) southeast of Downtown, and is home to the city's largest Hispanic population, with Hispanics constituting 53.8% of Fruitvale's population. The Fruitvale Oil Field is a large oil and gas field in the southern San Joaquin Valley, California, within and just northwest of the city of Bakersfield, along and north of the Kern River. It is one of the few oil fields in the California Central Valley which is mostly surrounded by a heavily populated area. Fruitvale is an unincorporated rural community in Crockett County, Tennessee, United States. As of 2012, there were about 65 people living in Fruitvale. The village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 as the Fruitvale Historic District. History Establishment The Fruitvale area was settled during the first half of the 19th century. At first it was known as Jackson Hollow.
