Christine Ann Froude (born 6 June 1947) is a British retired Anglican priest. She was Archdeacon of Malmesbury from 2011 and Acting Archdeacon of Bristol, 2013–2018. Fred Froude
Frederick Ernest Froude (3 July 1910 – 16 June 1978) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood and coached St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Although Froude played most of his career as a half back flanker, he started as a forward and kicked 30 goals in the 1931 VFL season. He played in five grand finals for three premierships; 1930, 1935 and 1936. In 1948, nine years after retiring, Froude returned to the VFL as coach of St Kilda. Hurrell Froude
Richard Hurrell Froude (25 March 1803 – 28 February 1836) was an Anglican priest and an early leader of the Oxford Movement. Life He was born in Dartington, Devon, the eldest son of Robert Froude ( Archdeacon of Totnes) and the elder brother of historian James Anthony Froude and engineer and naval architect William Froude. He was educated at Ottery St Mary school, and went to Eton College at the age of thirteen. His mother, the first great influence in his life, died when he was eighteen; he matriculated at Oriel College, Oxford, a few weeks later. At Oxford his tutor was John Keble, whose holy life and teaching had a profound effect upon him. In 1823, Keble's mother died and he left Oxford to assist his father and two surviving sisters. James Anthony Froude ( ; 23 April 1818 – 20 October 1894) was an English historian, novelist, biographer, and editor of ''Fraser's Magazine''. From his upbringing amidst the Anglo-Catholic Oxford Movement, Froude intended to become a clergyman, but doubts about the doctrines of the Anglican church, published in his scandalous 1849 novel '' The Nemesis of Faith'', drove him to abandon his religious career. Froude turned to writing history, becoming one of the best-known historians of his time for his ''History of England from the Fall of Wolsey to the Defeat of the Spanish Armada''. Inspired by Thomas Carlyle, Froude's historical writings were often fiercely polemical, earning him a number of outspoken opponents. William Froude
William Froude (; 28 November 1810 in Devon – 4 May 1879 in Simonstown, South Africa) was an English engineer, hydrodynamicist and naval architect. He was the first to formulate reliable laws for the resistance that water offers to ships (such as the hull speed equation) and for predicting their stability. Biography Froude was born at Dartington, Devon, England, the son of Robert Froude, Archdeacon of Totnes and was educated at Westminster School and Oriel College, Oxford, graduating with a first in mathematics in 1832. His first employment was as a surveyor on the South Eastern Railway which, in 1837, led to Brunel giving him responsibility for the construction of a section of the Bristol and Exeter Railway. Froude is an unincorporated community in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, located in the Rural Municipality of Griffin No. 66, along the historic Ghost Town Trail, also known as the Red Coat Trail or Highway 13. The community is located approximately 42 km east of the city of Weyburn and 137 km southeast of the provincial capital city of Regina.
