''Frost'' is a collection of mystery stories by author Donald Wandrei. It was released in 2000 by F & B Mystery in an edition of 1,100 copies of which 100 were signed by the editor and artist and released in a slipcase with Wandrei's ''Three Mysteries ''Three Mysteries'' is a collection of mystery stories by author Donald Wandrei. The stories features Wandrei's scientist detective I. V. Frost and originally appeared in the magazine ''Clues Detective''. Les Edwards
Les Edwards (born 7 September 1949) is a British illustrator known for his work in the horror, science fiction and fantasy genres, and has provided numerous illustrations for book jackets, posters, magazines, record covers and games during his career. In addition to working under his actual name, he also uses the pseudonym Edward Miller to paint in a different style and to overcome restrictions placed on him by his association with horror. He has won the British Fantasy Society award for Best Artist seven times, and was awarded the World Fantasy Award in 2008. Life and career Edwards studied at Hornsey College of Art between 1968 and 1972, where he says he was "firmly advised that he would never be an illustrator" due to a general perception in the department that the job was too difficult, and later claiming that the experience failed to provide much of use in later years. F & B Mystery
Fedogan & Bremer is a weird fiction specialty publishing house founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1985 by Philip Rahman and Dennis Weiler. The name comes from the nicknames of the two founders when they were in college. The first Fedogan and Bremer project was a commercial cassette recording of a reading of H.P. Lovecraft's "Fungi From Yuggoth", released in 1987. A remastered CD version was released in the 1990s, and the work has been extensively pirated. Currently, it is not available, but a re-release is planned. Arkham House had announced the forthcoming publication of ''Colossus'' by Donald Wandrei as early as 1965. However, it remained unpublished into the 1980s. Philip Rahman approached the Wandrei estate with the hopes of publishing the collection. While no manuscript nor proposed contents could be found, Rahman and Weiler went forward and published a collection using the same title as the unpublished Arkham House collection. Mystery (fiction)
Mystery is a fiction genre where the nature of an event, usually a murder or other crime, remains mysterious until the end of the story. Often within a closed circle of suspects, each suspect is usually provided with a credible motive and a reasonable opportunity for committing the crime. The central character is often a detective (such as Sherlock Holmes), who eventually solves the mystery by logical deduction from facts presented to the reader. Some mystery books are non-fiction. Mystery fiction can be detective stories in which the emphasis is on the puzzle or suspense element and its logical solution such as a whodunit. Mystery fiction can be contrasted with hardboiled detective stories, which focus on action and gritty realism. Mystery fiction can involve a supernatural mystery in which the solution does not have to be logical and even in which there is no crime involved.
