Republican Front ( ca, Front Republicà) was a Catalan left-wing and republicanist electoral alliance formed for the April 2019 Spanish general election by Free People ( ca, Poble Lliure), We Are Alternative ( ca, Som Alternativa) and Pirates of Catalonia and the support of La Forja. History The coalition was presented on March 15, 2019 at the headquarters of the "Escarré International Center for Ethnic and National Minorities" (CIEMEN) and included Free People, We Are Alternative and Pirates of Catalonia. It was presented in the 2019 Spanish general election and was led by Albano Dante Fachin, Maribel Rodríguez, Guillem Fuster, Mireia Caldés and Roger Español. The Catalan independence movement ( ca, independentisme català; Spanish: ''independentismo catalán'') is a social and political movement (with roots in Catalan nationalism) which seeks the independence of Catalonia from Spain. La Forja - Jovent Revolucionari (''The Forge - Revolutionary Youth'') is a left-wing Catalan independence youth organization that is active in all the Catalan Countries. La Forja is part of the Popular Unity Candidacy–Constituent Call (CUP-CC) coalition and has very close ties with the political party Poble Lliure. The Cortes Generales (; en, Spanish Parliament, lit=General Courts) are the bicameral legislative chambers of Spain, consisting of the Congress of Deputies (the lower house), and the Senate (the upper house). The Congress of Deputies meets in the Palacio de las Cortes. The Senate meets in the Palacio del Senado. Both are in Madrid. The Popular Unity Candidacy ( ca, Candidatura d'Unitat Popular, , CUP) is a left-wing to far-left pro-Catalan independence political party active primarily in Catalonia, where it has political representation, but also in other autonomous communities in Spain it considers to be part of the Catalan Countries. Girona ( es, Gerona) is one of the 52 constituencies ( es, link=no, circunscripciones) represented in the Congress of Deputies, the lower chamber of the Spanish parliament, the Cortes Generales. Pirates of Catalonia ( ca, Pirates de Catalunya, PIRATA.CAT) is a political party in Catalonia. The party is based on the model of the Swedish Pirate Party and is a member of the Pirate Parties International, it supports intellectual property reform, open access to culture and knowledge, transparency and direct democracy.
