Frome Road is a connecting road in the South Australian capital city of Adelaide. It starts from North Terrace, Adelaide, North Terrace in the Adelaide city centre, running in a northerly direction past the University of South Australia, the site of the old Royal Adelaide Hospital, now known as Lot Fourteen, the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science and the University of Adelaide, and then through the Adelaide Parklands to the Adelaide Zoo where it turns northeasterly, crosses the River Torrens via Albert Bridge, and continues through the parklands to the intersection with Melbourne Street, North Adelaide, Melbourne Street and Brougham Place in North Adelaide. It is one of the three roads connecting the city centre to North Adelaide, the others being King William Road, Adelaide, King William Road and Morphett Street, Montefiore Road. ABC Radio Adelaide
ABC Radio Adelaide (call sign: 5AN) is the ABC Local Radio station for Adelaide. It is broadcast at 891 kHz on the AM band, on DAB digital radio and on the ABC Listen app. It is also available on Digital TV on channel 25 in Adelaide. History 5AN started transmitting on 15 October 1937 with equipment located in the central telephone exchange, and a radio mast located in Post Office Place. The station transmitter moved to Brooklyn Park, already the site of 5CL's transmitter, on 4 May 1944. Edward Charles Frome
General Edward Charles Frome (7 January 1802 – 2 November 1890) was a British Army officer and Surveyor General of South Australia. Early life Born in Gibraltar on 7 January 1802, Frome was orphaned early in his life. He was educated in Blackheath, London, England, where he became a close friend of Benjamin Disraeli. Career He received his commission in the Royal Engineers in 1825. He was involved in the Rideau Canal construction in Canada in 1827 to 1833. In September 1839 Frome arrived in South Australia on the ship ''Recovery'' to take up an appointment as the colony's third Surveyor General. He was also a member of the South Australian Legislative Council (2 October 1839 to 14 June 1843).
