''From the Depths of Time'' is the debut album by Danish progressive power metal band Avian. It was released on 21 October 2005 by Nightmare Records and was remixed and remastered in 2006 with art enhancements inside the booklet. The album features American vocalist Lance King and then-former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson. The album is a concept album, dealing with the end of days and a warning to mankind that there are "guardians" watching us. Avian (band)
Avian is an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band founded in 2002 by guitarist Yan Leviathan. Musically, they are influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, HammerFall, Savatage, and Megadeth. In 2005, the band released their debut album ''From the Depths of Time'', a concept album dealing with the end of days and a warning to mankind. Their second album, titled ''Ashes and Madness'', was released in September 2008. Power Metal
Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. Generally, power metal is characterized by a faster, lighter, and more uplifting sound, in contrast with the heaviness and dissonance prevalent, for example, in extreme metal. Progressive Metal
Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad :Fusion music genres, fusion music genre melding heavy metal music, heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified electric guitar, guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter. Lance King (born November 23, 1962) is an American heavy metal music singer and songwriter specializing in melodic progressive power metal. He has sung with many groups over the last 35 years and started the record label Nightmare in 1990 to release his own music, and is currently still at the helm of the label. David Ellefson
David Warren Ellefson (born November 12, 1964) is an American musician, best known for his long tenure as the bassist for thrash metal band Megadeth. Ellefson initially became an accomplished bassist and honed his songwriting skills while leading several of his own bands through the club scene of North America's Midwest region before relocating to Los Angeles. He was then the bassist of Megadeth from 1983 to their breakup in 2002, and again from 2010 to 2021. Ellefson co-founded the hard rock band the Lucid in 2021 alongside vocalist Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge), guitarist Drew Fortier (formerly of Bang Tango), and drummer Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Malignancy, Raven).
