Frode Kyvåg
Frode Kyvåg (born 8 September 1945) is a Norwegian team handball coach and sports administrator. Career Kyvåg was head coach for the Norway women's national handball team from 1974 to 1978. He coached the women's team of Bækkelagets SK from 1983 to 1988 and from 1991 to 2000, when the team had great success internationally, winning the EHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup in 1998 and 1999. He has also been a handball coach for the clubs Nordstrand IF, Gjerpen IF and Fjellhammer IL. He has been secretary-general for the international youth football tournament Norway Cup from 1975. He is also a former speed skater and competed for Nordstrand IF in the seasons 1958/59–1964/65. In the 2015 Norwegian local elections he was elected as a member of Oslo city council. The Norway women's national handball team represents Norway at international handball competitions, and is governed by the Norges Håndballforbund (NHF). As of 2022, Norway has been in 24 finals and is regarded as one of the finest women's national handball team ever. Norway women's national handball team holds the distinction in the sport for being the only handball team, on the women's side, and men's side, to have won the European Championship four consecutive times. Speed Skater
Speed skating is a competitive form of ice skating in which the competitors race each other in travelling a certain distance on skates. Types of speed skating are long track speed skating, short track speed skating, and marathon speed skating. In the Olympic Games, long-track speed skating is usually referred to as just "speed skating", while short-track speed skating is known as "short track". The International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of competitive ice sports, refers to long track as "speed skating" and short track as "short track skating". 2015 Norwegian Local Elections
Local elections were held in Norway on 14 September 2015. Voters elected representatives to municipal and county councils, which are responsible for education, public transport, health, and elderly care, and for the levy of certain taxes. The Labour Party became the largest party, gaining 33% of the vote, while the nationally governing Conservative and Progress parties suffered losses relative to their performances in the 2013 parliamentary and 2011 local elections. Term of office was 1 January 2016 until 31 December 2019. The results meant that the Conservatives were set to lose control of Norway's two most populous cities, Oslo and Bergen. In Tromsø the Red Party garnered a record 14.4% of the votes. They formed a majority along with the Labour Party and the Socialist Left Party, and chose to phase out the local parliamentary system. Norway Cup
The Norway Cup is an international youth football tournament in Oslo, Norway. It has been held annually since 1972, with the exception of 1976 (due to a conflicting arrangement), 2020 and 2021 (due to the COVID-19 Pandemic). It is the world's largest football tournament and sees a typical 1400 to 1700 participating teams per year - in 2016 Norway Cup hit an all-time record with 2199 teams, of which 450 teams played the new 3v3 tournament for 6-10 year olds. The Norway Cup consists of tournaments for ages 10 through 19 for both genders, with over 53,049 teams having participated during its history. The tournament takes place at Ekebergsletta. The tournament is organized by Bækkelagets Sportsklub with Tony Isaksen as its general secretary. Participants come from 50 to 60 countries.
