Fritz Hamburg
Charles David "Fritz" Hamburg is an American college baseball coach and former catcher. Hamburg is the head coach of the Saint Joseph's Hawks baseball team. Playing career Hamburg attended The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. After graduating from The Hill School, Hamburg enrolled at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he would play for the Virginia Tech Hokies baseball team. After two years at Virginia Tech, Hamburg transferred to Ithaca College. While at Ithaca, he was named a Third Team All-American in 1988, while leading the Bombers to a National Championship. Saint Joseph's Hawks Baseball
The Saint Joseph's Hawks baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The team is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. Saint Joseph's first baseball team was fielded in 1894. The team plays its home games at John W. Smithson Field on the campus of Saint Joseph's University. The Hawks previously played at Campbell's Field in Camden, New Jersey before the completion of Smithson Field in 2012. 2012 Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Tournament
The 2012 Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Tournament was held from May 23–26. The top six regular season finishers of the league's thirteen teams met in the double-elimination tournament at Jim Houlihan Park at Jack Coffey Field on the campus of Fordham University in the Bronx, New York. Second seed won their first tournament championship and claimed the conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. Seeding and format The top six finishers from the regular season were seeded one through six based on conference winning percentage. The bottom four seeds played on the first day, with the losers of each game playing an elimination game in Game 3. On day 2, the winners of games 1 and 2 played the top two seeds.
