Frits Purperhart
Frits Lambertus Purperhart (25 December 1944 – 29 September 2016) was a Surinamese football manager and player, a member of the Suriname Olympic Committee board of directors as well as being a board member for the National broadcasting network Telesur in Suriname. As a player, he played in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse for Ajax, NAKS and S.V. Leo Victor, as well as playing for the Suriname national team. He has also managed both Leo Victor and the Suriname national team during the span of his career. He is considered to be one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport in Suriname, having finished as the league's top scorer twice, winning the Surinamese Footballer of the Year award on two occasions as well. Martinique National Football Team
The Martinique football team (french: Équipe de Martinique de football) represents the French overseas department and region of Martinique in international football. The team is controlled by the Ligue de Football de la Martinique ( en, Martinique Football League), a local branch of French Football Federation (french: Fédération Française de Football). On 7 August 2010, the team adopted the nickname ''Les Matinino'', which pays tribute to the history of the island. The 1996 Caribbean Cup (also known as the Shell/Umbro Caribbean Cup for sponsorship reasons), was the 8th edition of the Caribbean Cup, the biennial football championship of the Caribbean region (CFU). It was held in Trinidad, where it began on 24 May 1996 and concluded on 7 June. In the tournament, the hosts Trinidad and Tobago were to be joined by 7 nations who advanced from the qualification process that began in April 1996 and involved 18 Caribbean national teams. Jamaica National Football Team
The Jamaica national football team, nicknamed the "Reggae Boyz", represents Jamaica in international football. The team's first match was against Haiti in 1925. The squad is under the supervising body of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), which is a member of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), and the global jurisdiction of FIFA. Jamaica's home matches have been played at Independence Park since its opening in 1962.
