Frigyes Turán (born January 10, 1974, in Budapest) is a Hungarian rally driver. Career A regular competitor in the Hungarian national championship, Turán made his World Rally Championship debut at the 2010 Rally de Portugal driving a Peugeot 307 WRC, finishing 23rd overall. At the next event, Rally Bulgaria, he finished an impressive eighth, ahead of WRC regular Matthew Wilson. His next rally in WRC was Rally France, he retired at 9th Special Stage. At Rally Catalunya he raced with Ford Focus RS WRC 08 instead of his usual Peugeot 307 WRC The Peugeot 307 WRC is a World Rally Car based on the Peugeot 307 road car. 2011 Rally Finland
The 2011 Rally Finland was the eighth round of the 2011 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 28–30 July, and was based in Jyväskylä, with a remote service in Lahti. The rally was also the fifth round of the Super 2000 World Rally Championship, the fourth round of the Production World Rally Championship and the third round of the WRC Academy. Championship leader Sébastien Loeb won for the second time in Finland, taking his 66th career victory in the process, ahead of rivals Jari-Matti Latvala, Sébastien Ogier and Mikko Hirvonen. 2010 Rally New Zealand
The 2010 Rally New Zealand was the fifth round of the 2010 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 7–9 May and is based in the country's largest city, Auckland. The rally was also the fourth round of both the Production World Rally Championship and the Super 2000 World Rally Championship. Jari-Matti Latvala took his third WRC win after taking advantage of an error by Sébastien Ogier on the final stage; which promoted the Finn into first place. Latvala eventually took the victory by just 2.4 seconds with Sébastien Loeb a further 12.8 seconds back in third position. Loeb had been leading prior to stage 19, before hitting a tree which cost him over 40 seconds. Jari Ketomaa won the Super 2000 class of the rally, finishing in eighth position overall. The 2011 Acropolis Rally was the seventh round of the 2011 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 17–19 June, and was based in Loutraki, outside the country's capital, Athens. The rally was also the fourth round of the Super 2000 World Rally Championship. The Acropolis Rally returned to the WRC calendar for the first time since 2009, after the event was not run in 2010. Sébastien Ogier took his third victory in five starts, having overtaken team-mate Sébastien Loeb on the final day of the event. 2011 Rally Argentina
The 2011 Rally Argentina was the sixth round of the 2011 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 26–29 May, and was based in Villa Carlos Paz, in the province of Córdoba. The rally was also the third round of the Production World Rally Championship. Argentina returned to the WRC calendar for the first time since 2009, after the event was a part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in 2010. Sébastien Loeb took his third win of the season and the 65th WRC win of his career after a come-from-behind victory over the final two days. Having run first on the road on the first day, Loeb trailed Jari-Matti Latvala by 90 seconds after day one, but six stage victories over the final two days helped to recover some of the lost time and ultimately took the rally victory on the final stage. 2011 Rally D'Italia Sardegna
The 2011 Rally Italia Sardegna was the fifth round of the 2011 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 6–8 May, and was based in Olbia, the fourth-largest town on the island of Sardinia. The rally was also the third round of the Super 2000 World Rally Championship and the second round of the WRC Academy. Sardinia returned to the WRC calendar for the first time since 2009, after the event was a part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in 2010. Sébastien Loeb took his second win of the season and the 64th WRC win of his career after holding off challenges from Mikko Hirvonen and Petter Solberg on the final day of the rally, despite having to run most of the event first on the road and being disadvantaged by sweeping away loose gravel. 2011 Jordan Rally
The 2011 Jordan Rally was the fourth round of the 2011 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 14–16 April, and was based beside the Dead Sea, some from the country's capital, Amman. The rally was also be the second round of the Super 2000. The rally concluded with the closest finish in the history of the World Rally Championship. Heading into the final ''Power Stage'', Jari-Matti Latvala held a lead of 0.5 seconds over Sébastien Ogier, but Ogier overhauled his rival by just 0.2 seconds after winning the stage by 0.04 seconds over Latvala's Ford teammate Mikko Hirvonen, and crucially, 0.7 seconds over Latvala. 2011 Rally De Portugal
The 2011 Rally de Portugal was the third round of the 2011 World Rally Championship season. It was the season's first European event held on gravel roads. The rally took place over 24–27 March, beginning with a super special stage in the city of Lisbon. The rally was also the second round of the Production World Rally Championship and the inaugural event of the WRC Academy. Sébastien Ogier won the event for the second consecutive year, to take his third WRC victory. 2011 Rally Sweden
The 2011 Rally Sweden was the opening round of 2011 World Rally Championship season. It was the season's first and only event held on snow- and ice-covered gravel roads. The rally took place over 10–13 February, beginning with a Super Special Stage in the event's base town of Karlstad. The rally was also the first round of the Production World Rally Championship. The rally saw a beginning to a new era in the World Rally Championship, with the previous generation of WRC machinery such as the Citroën C4 and the Ford Focus being phased out in favour of cars with a displacement of .
